I'm going to really miss people standing arbitrarily in the middle of the bridge chatting to their friends casually, while hundreds of people around them patiently wait to get to their lectures.

I am actually sad to see the footbridge go, I have fond memories of trying to cross it like a newborn foal during the snowy weather.

I remember it taking me about 5 minutes to cross one icy morning. It was like my legs had never been introduced to each other. I had to really pull myself up the first part by the handrail, and got about halfway up, arms were sore, couldn't hold on any longer, nothing but inches of pure ice under my feet and a long way down and thinking "Wow, I have really ****ed myself over on this one, haven't I."

I loved that on the open days.

I'm only coming to NUIM in september but I just about saw how much craic the old footbridge was when I came for the few days.

I think Paul-501 was being sarcastic. People stopping for a chat on the footbridge is the most annoying thing about it!

I'm going to miss giving out to people early on a Monday for getting in my way on the bridge.

Forgive the stupid question, but what is the alternative to "the bridge" (sniff) to getting across the Kilcock Rd quickly and safely?

There is now a traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing running right beside where the bridge used to be. Its suitability as a replacement for the bridge was the subject of much discussion a few pages ago ;)

So Maynooth gets yet another set of traffic lights, then?

    Ah well...

Hi guys, just wondering about the library construction as well. The NUIM website states that its due to be finished in 2012. How are the library facilities coping at the moment and is there much of a disruption caused by the ongoing construction? cheers...

There are regular updates on the library website pages if you are unsure what the status is,
normally there is a down time during the summer with less hours/days open during the week.
It's best to check there first before you go in.

    Hours
    Building News

Normally it's fine, just things have been moved around a bit so getting in the
door might prove to be a bit confusing.
