Starting a fitness kick

I decided for New Years to start using my gym membership ( its part of our college fee), so joined the Trampolining club. However my second time there, I landed on my neck and pulled muscles between my shoulder blades, meaning I'm stiff and in a lot of pain. I was on muscle relaxants and painkillers but am off them now and still not fully healed. I do want to start going back to the gym though, to start getting back into getting fit.
What machines/exercises should I start off with, keeping in mind that my upper back is still a bit iffy?

I suspect this is a bit too close to medical advice, and it may be the case that you shouldn't go back to the gym at all yet. Certainly nobody here can tell you what, if anything, is safe for you to do with an injury, and really only a doctor or (perhaps more likely) physio after examining you is in a position to do so, so I'd suggest making an appt with one to find out.

    Seek professional medical advice.
