Injured my lower back deadlifting last October and has got progressively worse since. I've been to a couple of physios and found the exercises they gave me no help. Also got dry needling done and that seemed to trigger it hurting more.

Preferably looking for somewhere in D2 / D6 areas if anyone can make any recommendations that would be great

No recommendation for a "Back Specialist" however last year I did my back in dead lifting like yuorself. Lower back, left side, and initialy tried to restrict training and rest as much as possible. However back muscle would spasm a couple of times a day and I would be left bent over at a 90 degree angle until the spasm passed.

I went out to the physio I usually use. He is based in Dun Laoghaire, about 6-8 minutes from the dart station. At the side of the Royal Marine Hotel.

Only required one session and I was much much better. No more back spasms and back Deadlifting 5 days later, albeit with lighter weight, but I built it back up slowly.

If you would like to give this guy a try, PM me and I will send you his details by return PM.

I have back pain as well after doing Squats just before Christmas. Its only when I arch my back backwards that I get the pain. I keep putting off getting it checked by a aprofessional. I know (stupid of me) hoping it will heal with time. I think its a muscle tear or pull. Would the MRI scan be covered under health insurance? 400 euro is a bit steep

no its not covered but the amount of money you will waste on doctors pain killers physio xrays out of work it will save you money in the long run.

Confirmed i'm covered with health insurance for an MRI pretty much anywhere so just have to get a referral. Will still cost me €125 excess but thats not too bad.

I went to a chiropractor yesterday and he diagnosed my injury as Facet joint syndrome. Has anyone else ever had this before and if so how did you overcome it and rehabilitate the injury?

You really should get it checked. Go to a decent Physio, Osteopath, Physical therapist, Chiropractor etc. If they know what they're doing ( & not a cowboy ;))they'll be able to advise on the next step. Where are you based, someone might be able to recommend a decent practitioner.

It's treatable by a decent practitioner. Did you not ask your Chiropractor theese questions? Google's 1st hit brings up this, give it a read & see what you think

I've had a few problems with my back down the years, tried all the usual and unusual stuff. MRI is the only way to go so long as you get a competent person to read the scan.

MRI to diagnose a pulled/tight muscle or facet irritation! I've heard it all now
Sure bypass the MRI & get an endoscopic investigation, nothing like overkill for diagnosis! :)
