Maybe not when it takes a spin off into speculative rhetoric, albeit, in fun.

It's fine to say the radar is not working and report on measures taken to repair and so on.

It's not fine to say if it were the Dublin radar that it would be fixed and THEY don't give a rats about us in the west < sort of post. Albeit, humorously delivered.

Let's get this thread back on topic.

It seems to be working ok at the moment, touch wood. Hopefully whatever issues there were have now been resolved and we can expect full 24/7 coverage from now on.

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ does not seem to be getting info from it [yet]?

Even though the extra coverage it a bit limited for Ireland I have a premium account to show the snow [in red] ~ if Shannon stays off this it won't be worthwhile [for me].

Do you know about sharing and how it works? Thanks

I'd say it's something you'd need to take up with Raintoday.

I suspect that it was more servicing as it was down for the 9 to 5 working day.

Appears that I was right & they overslept today as it went off at 9.15am

If there is anyone here with any influence, can't these guys work overnight.

    From Met.ie earlier today

    Shannon Radar - Status Update

Fault finding carried out over the past two days has been completed and a problem identified. The radar has been returned to service. A further interruption can be expected next week when new parts are installed.

Met Eireann apologises for the recent interruptions in service.

The radar does not have to be shutdown for work to be done on it, so it would be wrong to assume "they overslept today" simply because the radar was shutdown at 9:15.

Also check out normal labour laws and obligatory rest times between work which might explain your other point.
