John was a member of Slaney CC, Enniscorthy for the past number of years. A strong cyclist on both road and MTB, John was a regular participant in sportives around the country including our own Mount Leinster Challenge. John was also interested in the racing scene and was a regular poster on both this forum as well as club forums and facebook etc. John was never shy to offer his opinion on events but was happy to back this up with offers of assistance and was always quick to express his gratitude.

All at the club express their sympathies to Johns familiy.

A great Boardsie, I came across him in a few forums, he was always insightful and a gent.
Threads like this always make me think of my own mortality and make me grateful for the life I have.

RIP JW, this forum will always be that little bit less because of your passing.

RIP John , didn't know him but whether it was cycling or shooting , he seemed passionate about it judging by what people on both forums have been saying . Only had a spat with him last week myself , all boards forums will be the poorer without posters like jwshooter ...again condolences to family and friends .

I met John once at a League race, and had a brief discussion on boards here with John, quite a shock to hear he has died.

For those of you interested, there's a shoot in his honour in Wexford, I think it's this weekend and the money raised goes to a suicide charity in Enniscorthy. Ask the shooting forum for more details.
