I never understood bath people. Why would you want to lie in a pool of your own dirt for 30-60minutes?

Shower before bath! Hot bath, whiskey and a movie FTW.

Baths disgust me. The only way to have a bath is the traditional Japanese way. Get yeself squeaky clean before getting into the bath for a good soak.

Perhaps one could have a shower, then a bath

Ooh! And, seeing as how some people like to sing in the wet? Ye could sing; " I think I'm turning Japanese " :)

I love the bubble baths. Laying in such hot water until I feel faint. Candles, book. Then when i think im done, i get out and wash myself in the shower.

It feels so much better too - like all my pores are opened, and therefore, cleaner, when i take a shower.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to do this every night anymore, so its mostly just showers.

Splashing out with the auld immersion there! :D

That would be my choice but I don't have an electric shower, mine runs off the immersion. So I'd have to heat up the immersion, have a shower, sit around for ages while the immersion heats up again and then I could have my bath... Not worth it. One day...

Just showers for me for now. Maybe the odd bath every few months if I have a lot of spare time.

I like to close my eyes and just listen to the water, it's like therapy....your mind goes blank, i love the feel of the water trickling down my body, it's especially good when you have someone in there with you :-)

Anyway I just wash in a river without using any 'products'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,659 ✭✭✭CrazyRabbit

If the purpose is to clean, then a shower is the only option.

If the purpose is relaxation, then a bath is preferred.

As for soaking in a 'pool of your own dirt for 30-60minutes', well that 'dirt' was already on me before getting into the bath, so it's hardly gross.

That's hillarious Jubella! :P - you're taking a bath to get clean/relax not to entertain you!

Jaysus....what do you want the bath to do?....break out a mirrorball and groove to some 70's disco? :)

Do you have a massive bath? I tried this before and it was cramped, uncomfortable and annoying (yes I got the taps!)

I love seaweed baths, they are so relaxing, but unfortunately expensive so it's a rare treat. Love my shower in the morning, really wakes me up.

Some people here are saying baths take between 30 and 60 minutes?! What on earth are you going to do in that time?? You can get clean in 15 mins with a shower, in and out! What's so relaxing about lying in a bathroom for an hour??

I love taking a bath. I quiet bath nothing else.

I might just take a car magazine in with me to read but thats it. Might have the radio on as well. If i have time i might bring in the tv & all. But i could get hungry so sometimes i'l bring up the camping stove & a frying pan & cook up some grub while im in the bath. Also enjoy a bit of carpentry so i'l hook up the oul wood lathe & make a few fruit bowls from beechwood. Thing is i own a dozen jack russels so in they come as well. They do be does be barking like cheeky monkeys.

^some noise off that bathroom when im in there. Prefer a shower.

    i don't own jack russels.

Never understood why people read in the bath, does the book/mag not get soaked?!?! Trying to turn the pages, and with the sh*t paper quality it would disentegrate. And then you're trying to hold the book up, out of the water so whats relaxing about that? Nah, shower, jammies, couch and book... :)

15 minutes in a shower? Outside of shooting a porn film I can't imagine what would take so long.

Good advice for women who use the shower head beyond its intended purpose.

I think he is saying that a bath for 5 minutes is a waste of time, while that is fine for a shower. Baths are booooring.

( Bet the preference here of showers to baths matches the male-female ratio on Boards)

    What about this whore's bath?

For me, showers 99% of the time but I love throwing the immersion on before heading off for a soccer match in the freezing cold, then coming home and running a hot bath. Usually stream something to the iPad or read a book while in there.

I hadn't had a bath for years up until a few months ago and I'd really forgotten how nice it can be.
