    Has anyone ever taken spirulina ? Think you can get it in tablet form, what is the main reason for taking spirulina ?

    It's much easier to take in tablet form alright, especially if you're rushing out the door. Just be sure to get the 100% spirulina tablets, as in, no binding agent or shell. Synergy do a line here: http://www.evergreen.ie/synergy-spirulina/p-000011pd.aspx I think it's organic too (it says in the blurb it's organically grown but doesn't say it on the bottle as far as I can see).

    The e-book linked to above should tell you benefits etc of it.

    Have a read of this, while this stuff contains nutrients, you would have to eat a whole pile (rather than a few pills) of it to get significant amounts. So you'd be better off eating actual food, rather than pond scum

    I used to use it as an iron supplement as a vegetarian/vegan, tbh there are much more useful and effective supplements out there to spend your money on and it is very expensive. I don't think the evidence is there to show it to be of much use and I don't kow how destructive the manufacturing process is to any potential bioactive compounds in it anyway.
