the health sciences forum may be more appropriate since this forum is geared more at exercise and diet. Maybe try there? Il let this here though as someone may know the answer anyway.

    I would say three options:-

    1. Get an appointment with your local practice nurse and get it done there. Quite often my GP practice will just tell you the result over the phone, no further interpretation, no calling you in for a chat (unless it is grossly abnormal etc), probably cost you 20 euro or so (for the visit to nurse - if they charge)

    2. I see a lot of walk in cholesterol test clinics parked up at the side of the road - no experience of those, but I think the test result is given back to you quickly.

    3. Self test kit from Boots. I have used these a number of times on the same day that I have had my cholesterol checked at GP. I find them to be reasonably accurate and will give you a good indication if it is low, medium or high.

If you are overly concerned with a deadly accurate and exact number then options 1 and 2 are the only ones.

Hey I want to get my testosterone values, liver values etc also checked so I guess I have to go with option 1.

Thank you for such a fast, informative response.
