    Hi Guys,
I'm a Newbie to this and was hoping for some advice from you educated lot!

I'm a young man of 21 in the Dublin area who has been in gyms for a couple of years and done the usual. Spent 300 euro on membership. Went 10 to 15 times, then just trailed off as training with football and hurling got more intense as the summer went on. So last summer i bought a bench and a decent amount of weights and set up a little gym out in the back shed. Iv got a bench with 130 kg of plates along with some dumbbells and an ez curl bar. I recently bought a Kettle bell and find it very good for my core. I also have a punch bag as i recently started boxing. Now for my Questions!

    1) I want to get some sort of a mat like ones used in martial art training so i can do my sit up and ground work. The floor is concrete so i cant do a whole lot at the minute. Any ideas on some cheap alternatives? as any iv sourced have been quite expensive. I was thinking maybe tacking some soft lino to some plywood!
2)I want to get a mirror so i can check my form for various exercises. I only need a pane of mirror, no frame needed. Any ideas where i can get one?
    3) Has anyone any ideas on some good home exercises, or equipment i could use, buy or make, considering i have a tight budget.

Thanks for reading and i would appreciate some help!

    3. check out this guy http://www.rosstraining.com/articles/equipmentandlinks.html

    2. I think people have moved away from using mirror, because you focus too much on them and now video instead. This can be reviewed afterwards.

    1. try and use horse mats for the flooring, cheaper i think.

    now get to it

Thanks very much, really helpful input. That website is very good and i have inquired about the horse mats. My friend who has some horses, reckons they will be too hard, but i'l have a look myself!

    homemade powerrack

some wood from b+q,bolts and a drill and you can build some cool stuff for next to nothing.

You can get a yoga mat for nothing, fine is only sit ups and not rolling around

there's a home work out thread here, a quick search should cover it, lots of kettlebellstuff in it

Lots in teh metcon/home workout thread - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055968930&highlight=home+workout+thread

I think there are going to be wayyyy more people training like this from home over the next few year and farr less people spending money for gyms they never use or wasting time even getting to
