    Patch 1.06 is live for ps3

    Patch 1.06 released at 2AM PST on 1/25/11. Treyarch is dedicated to ensuring the best gaming experience for the fans, and we’ve been actively working with you to continue to improve the game based on your feedback. As always, keep the feedback coming through the community forums.

    LIVE FIXES

    1/25/11 (Patch 1.06)
    New Features:
    • New contracts added to the rotation.
    • Added optional pre-match timer for LAN / System-Link games.

    Issues Addressed:
    • Fixed freeze associated with larger games.
    • Improved reliability of players connections to one another.
    • Improved ability to bring parties to the game lobby. Late party joiners would try to connect to previous lobby host and be denied if new joiners trigger a lobby host migration.
    • Addressed an issue where the Host encounters and infinite spinning loading circle after a Host migration.
    • Fixed a timing specific, long/infinite loading screen when joining games (sometimes giving you “Error - Read error (0x80010713) on file <map name>").
    • Fixed a timing-specific freeze when host powered down during host migration.
    • Cleaned up the map search filter in the Community section (deleted unused entries).
    • Fixed Combat Training’s "USE FRIENDS" option for bots names.
    • Fixed issue with split-screen guest profile names being blank, resulting in matches never launching.
    • Instead of showing the generic “Player” for offline profiles in LAN, we now display the PS3 profile name.
    • Fixed Friends list appearing after viewing a Friends Playercard from the Leaderboards.
    • Fixed filter so players can now view Friends on Zombies leadboards.
    • Fix timing specific issue where the game can be put into slow motion.
    • Addressed "disconnected path" error when using the doors in Radiation after a host migration.
    • Fixed stability issues navigating lobbies after client on Split Screen Zombies quits out of a game.
    • Addressed issue/exploit when removing Counter Spy Plane effects with the Jammer.
    • Fixed a freeze when quickly loading maps one after another in private match.
    • Fixed issue where players get primary weapons in Second Chance.
    • Fixed “NEW” stamp not disappearing for Custom Slot 9 when highlighting the slot.
    • Removed water vision effect when respawning after dying in the acid pool in Radiation.
    • Several contract fixes.

    Gameplay Tuning:
    • Second Chance – players that put an enemy into Second Chance are now credited for a full kill once that enemy dies. If another player kills the enemy while the enemy is in Second Chance, they will get assist credit.
    • Adjustments to the PSG1 with attachments.
    • AK74U adjustments.
    • RCXD adjustments.
    • Silenced sniper rifle adjustments.

    Still getting full PS3 Freeze up happened to me on Ground War on Jungle, I ended up being the host and froze after a couple of minutes :(

    Well it said it has been in the patch notes. Although it says "AK74u adjustments" i would wager a guess it is a nerf

    I was trying out the RC car and AK74u (in combat training) last night and didn't notice any difference. The 74u might just might have been nerfed a bit on range but really found it hard to tell.

    One game of TDM. Jungle. Spawn mid game get instakilled. Then got a pretty quick care pack. Rolling Thunder. Other team running Ghost but packed tight together. Wipe them out. Host migration ,,,,,,,, fail. Put on Drake's Fortune. :rolleyes:

    Oh did notice the assist / kill change on 2nd chance.

    In terms of what? Gameplay wise, I haven't noticed any real difference. Connectivity wise, a very very slight improvement. Barely noticeable.

    it has broke second chance,
    Now if you shoot a guy he drops to second chance, shoot him again and he dies (then the bug kicks in)
    you respawn someplace else but you also appear standing where you were just killed so the guy shoots that version of you and gets a second kill and a longshot reward (because you are at the other side of the map, not where he actually just shot you)
    He gets credited with that kill but you dont die....

    very weird

    Now this if this is implemented is just bull****.Sure it was annoying to put a guy into second chance and then to have someone else come along and get a kill for maybe putting 1 bullet into the guy.But think about it.You put a guy into second chance and hes still alive!He can still use his pistol and kill you and your teammates.Point is hes not dead until hes out of second chance mode.I think they should have changed second chance but only to ensure that players cant kill you with their primaries as they are dropping into second chance mode as this seemed to happen a lot.

    There's another glitch I noticed while playing TDM, just a small thing. If the last kill of the game is you killing a second chance guy, the killcam will be broken. When you drop him into second chance, that's when it takes it as you getting the killcam, so sometimes it ends the killcam before you've even finished him off. It's strange.

    That would be because you dropping him into second chance is when you 'killed' him. Imagine having to watch a full killcam for the potential 30 seconds of him dragging his ass on the ground?
    It would probably be better to reverse the killcam to how it was, but have the credit (not the kill) to the executioner.

    Yeah, a lad I was playing with got the last kill in a game the other night and it was cos he'd put a guy into last stand and the noob died naturally. There was no killcam.

    was just playing a game there and spot a guy in second chance.naturally i finish him off.Game even tells me that I executed him with a headshot.Yet Ididnt get a kill only an assist.Ridiculous lmao.

    If you didn't put him in Second Chance you won't get the kill, only an assist.

    this is why i dont like the second chance change,
    if a someone puts someone in second chance they get the kill, if i then come around the corner and finish him off then i only get an assist.
    But if i come around the corner and the Second chance guy is on the ground he can still kill me... so if they guy who didnt finish him off got the kill for not killing him shouldnt he take my death for not finishing him off???
    since the change noone is finishing off the SC guys, so you end up running around a corner, into a room etc, only to have them knife you because you didnt know they were there....

    it is more imbalanced now than it was before they touched it

    Can't say I've encountered this more than 3 times. Even then it was probably a case of the SC guy killing my teammate not him leaving the SC guy on the ground.

    As I mentioned in party chat the other night, the change is much better for a number of reasons:

    - You're often heavily damaged after putting a guy into second chance and trying to pop out again to finish him off is risking your life
    - Now, you can just leave the guy and either let someone from your team, who's not at risk, finish him off, or either wait to regerate and kill him or just run away completely and leave him to die if there are other enemies in the area
    - You'll still have the kill for putting most of the work in and the only reason you would have chanced jumping out before, was to get the kill before someone else did
    - It will lessen the chance of the second chancer getting lucky kills because of above once everyone realises that when they hear pistol shots, they can just head off and there will be less open targets for the downed guy.

    He did kill him, he put enough bullets into him to kill. The only reason he isn't dead is because he's using that bitches perk (that's why he gets awarded the kill). If you can't put 1 bullet into a lad when you have full health well that says more about you.

    More imbalanced :confused:

    I agree but not if he doesn't have the Pro version, and thankfully most teammates don't bother reviving anyway (unless it's a party of second chancers).

    TBH, it's a risk I'm willing to take. However, it is handy to camp nearby and wait for attending 'medics' and take them all out :pac:
