Hopefully so. This truly is a bizarre time we are living in. I think we have become desensitised to the madness of it all and in time we will reflect on all this bullsh*t and realise just how crazy the whole thing was.

I hope they will out, fingers crossed they do.

I hope they won't. I need more time to register to vote.

Im hoping they've done a deal with the opposition to tie up some of there "loose ends" in return for pull out.Theres no reason the finance bill can't be pushed through by some other party

They wont walk out, the useless F*cks. Hope they are snookered into agreeing to put this bill through by friday though.

Useless f*cks - you're talking about Fianna Fail there surely ?

I'd love to see them gone before they get a chance to put the Carbon Bill into place.... it's a bill that will cost us dearly & achieve nothing worthwhile. A bit like this government.

The Greens are as useless as Fianna Fail. They will be obliterated in the next elections & rightly so.

You have sat here too long for any good you are doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!

IN this instance, IM talking about the greens, however, yes it could be used to refer to FF, brian cowen himself or indeed the independants who keep them in power.

    Damage control at this stage.

The political naivety of the greens has been highlighted before. With the independents saying they may support motion of no confidence, they might just want to be seen as the ones who finally end it all.

    We live in hope.

If true, could be a last final stunt by the Greens to try and gain some credibility back and at the same time, steal some limelight.
So far they have been the forgotten partners and shoved to the back of the crowd in regards camera lenses.

That scenario would be the first positive thing in the country for a few years.

FF gone, Greens gone, draconian and castrating carbon legislation avoided.

    grotesque, unbelievable, bizarre and unprecedented.

    what a fiasco

The consensus on the sam smyth show this morning was that the climate change bill was dead in the water after what went on this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,089 ✭✭✭✭hotmail.com

John McGunniess (FF) and Michael Lowry (Ind) have publicly said the they will vote against the climate bill. So it's dead.

Why? It will just be like any other election when the Dail is dissolved and every Minister heads back to their constituencies to canvass.

Bloody hell get on with it!

The Greens have made their bed.

Pulling the plug on the coalition now would have the same effect if the PDs had done the same in April 2007 i.e. NOTHING.

While the Greens have possibly contributed more positively to the bona fides of the Green movement then any environmental movement, it will not be forgotten how they propped up incompetence, and swallowed it lock, stock and barrel.

I should know better than to be looking forward to FF being dumped by the Greens.. We've been here before too many times.

"Our patience has reached an end"

They have pulled the plug, they will support Finance Bill from the opposition benches.

So does this mean a minority government until the vote is lost on Tuesday/Wednesday?

Didn't think they would do this, think it's Greens hoping this is their best chance not to be destroyed in forthcoming elections!
