I know there are a few people on here with a DTT (USB) tuner working on the DM800.
Its supported on the Dream Elite images.
Is it possible to record from DTT and watch satellite and vica versa ?
I have a Wand TV usb dongle here but it doesnt seem to be supported in the drivers .
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8325
Can anyone recommend a tuner that will work ,cheap preferably.:)
Would be handy to be able to record RTE and watch the other channels ,keep the missus happy .

With ALL linux distros, PC or set-box you consult the main support site and ONLY buy the 100% no-issues part.

There will be 2nd Mux after May, so if a Dual tuner stick is on the list it preferable.

Hauppauge Nova-T seems to be the one gaining most support on both DM and Vu+ boxes. See post #5.

The AVerTV Volar Black HD A850 will do the trick perfectly.

Bought one of the usb tuners from the bargain alerts thread, think I paid £6.70 for it. Guys name was Ellieshang but he no longer delivers to Ireland. I was looking for the drivers for the usb dvb-t dongles but Dream Elite servers are down this past few months. Managed to find them attached to an image on a different site. Installed them this morning and the dongle was picked up. Done a scan and all is well. Picks up all the Irish stations.

I can watch say RTE 1 and record RTE 2 or record any sat channel and watch any DVB-T channel.

Theres no brand name on the dongle but I have attached a picture of it. Have seen them on Ebay.

Also attached the drivers and instructions in case anyone is looking for them. Just ftp to tmp and do manual install through your image. I think there are Dream Elite images around with them already integrated but I didnt want the hassle of a full reflash. I wasn't sure which driver pack to install so I just installed them all.

Instructions "first copy your TUNER-DRV .tgz file and usbTuner_AUTO_active.tgz files to /tmp.

then into (>>Green Panel>>Addons Manager>>Manual Install Del packges) install tunerdrv and usbTuner_AUTO_active.tgz.

    reboot."

Will they work on VU+ Duo?

Sorry pommers, will have to leave that to one of the experts on here.
Found a link for the one I got on Ebay. Dealextreme seem to have the same one.

    Nice one Pissed ,good work.;)
That USB stick you found is just what I was looking for.
The chipset in it is AFATECH AF9015 ,so the relevant driver is dm800-dvbt-af9015_14592-r007_del.tgz (Same chipset as AVerTV Volar Black HD A850 )
The Hauppage Nova-T and AVerTV Volar Black HD A850 are quite expensive to be honest, almost 40 euro delivered .

I am running Dream Elite 133 Phoenix which has an incorporated panel for USB tuners.Seems to be drivers for about 20 different models in it .
One of them should work with the tuner you mentioned, might have to do trial and error on them .
I wonder can I install the tuner drivers you posted ,it seems a more extensive list of drivers that that on the Phoenix image ?
The Wandtv stick I have uses the Chipset (AF9035) which isnt supported yet.
Only drawback of the tuner you posted is the connector on it ,its not coaxial .
It would he handy to get DTT working on the 800 ,although I dont know how I will plug everything in,with only 2 usb ports.:(

That should sort out the coaxial problem. I have one ordered myself.

A very cheap solution to a dual tuner box :D

    Nice one.:)

I tried to get my Wandtv dvb-t tuner working on my Dm800 today but it wouldnt recognise it.
Its an AF9035 chipset which is covered in the DE Phoenix driver list but from what I can see its limited compatibility.
I'll just order that one off Dealextreme ,could be waiting a while as Chinese Holidays go on for the next week and a bit.

The latest Dreambox EDG-Nemesis images have very good support for USB tuners -
    http://www.edg-nemesis.tv/forums/showthread.php?17144-EDG-Nemesis-2.1

^^ Latest image released yesterday, running it here myself, excellent it is.

Also a link there giving a list of compatible USB DTT tuners for DM800's if it's of any use, http://www.edg-nemesis.tv/forums/showthread.php?15303-Lista-penne-usb-DTT-compatibili-per-DM800HD

Use Google Chrome to browse and it should pop up to translate from Italian to English if you need to.

Must say thanks, but how's it going now??

In Tuner Config when I click on Tuner B: USB Tuner Afatech Af9013 DVB-T (DVB-T) I have the Terrestrial provider set to Europe, Middle East, Africa: DVB-T Frequencies. I have Enable 5V for active antenna set to off.

In Manual Scan everything is set to Auto under Single transponder except for Bandwidth which is set to 7MHz and 466000

I've just set Bandwidth to 8 MHz and after a complete scan I now have all 18 channels. Thanx for the help Glenviewjf.

Hi settopbox. I've attached an screenshot. The thing is I'm using the Edg-Nemisis image which also supports drivers for DVB-T sticks. The image below is a screenshot of where the driver is enabled. (hence the number 1 for on). To locate this in Edg-Nemisis its Blue button then Red button then scroll down to Manage DVB-T/C Adapter.

    Hope this helps.

If you look at the error message it appears there is something wrong with the af9015 driver.

I would say it's either corrupt (try copy it over again) or for another system.

Ye're best bet is using an external antenna like I do!

I got mine going through the drivers on the Dream Elite Blackhole Phonix image!

If ye dont want to use that download the Italy DTT plugin from the TS Panel and install the correct driver for your Tuner!
