Same standard as Lee I reckon....

I know how he is, well I know a bit about him, I was just showing my exasperation of him fighting another C level fighter.

I actually think this is a good matchup.

Unbeaten fighter, trained by Freddie Roach with big aspirations. On paper at least it's a 50-50 fight.

    Surprised nobody else thinks so.

    C vs. C? I don't see an issue here!

    B vs. B level I reckon .

It'll be a decent match up . Similar in physical stature I think

Yeah, similar stature, which will suit Lee i reckon. McEwan is not the type of fighter Andy usually struggles with.

Lee should come through this. McEwan is a half decent prospect but time will only tell whether he is a potential fringe contender. Boxingscene.com also stating that DiBella is interested in signing lee up to his promotions company. If this is true, then Sergio awaits in the near future. Still would like to see him fight pirog or someone like that first.

Lee fight Pirog first? I think Pirog beats Lee, if anything i'd like to see Martinez fight Pirog first.

This is a really good fight for Lee, it will tell us a lot about where he's really at right now.

Why and what difference does it make to you if Martinez fights Pirog???

Would you rather Lee take a realistic step up or get embarassed by Martinez? Lee has much higher chance of beating Pirog (a paper champion) gaining experience, and then going into a fight with Martinez in late 2011, early 2012 much better prepared.

I know he can probably get a fight with Martinez straight away for a big pay day, but i have higher aspirations for Andy Lee than just making his wallet bigger.

Now now, it's only a boxing site. No need to get so touchy.
If it makes you feel better, Lee is A level, ok?

I guess that's where we differ. I want him to get the biggest payday possible while he can because unless he has sorted out his glaring weaknesses he wont be flucking around at the top for long.

I'd love to be wrong, i really like Andy.

As moderator are you not supposed to be keeping the peace !
Anyway I think this will be a better career move ! as after chavez duddy is on the slide he must be 31 or 32 now.

Andy isn't quite A grade yet , he may get there eventually , but right now he is fringe world level .

lets see what he's got against this prospect , Mc Ewan is a yard-stick opponent , just like Brian Vera .

A-grade would be Pirog , Lemieux , Sylvestre , Dan Jacobs , Sergio Martinez , Sturm , Karmazin , Paul williams etc .

Personally , Id like to see him fight J.C . Chavez jnr .
thats a fight he could win and a fight which would raise his profile and stature .

I agree with your comparison between vera and McEwen. Although McEwen beat Vera so maybe that proves he is a level higher.

I dont agree with putting fighters like Pirog and Daniel Jacobs in the same class as Martinez or Paul Williams though. If Andy Lee was being rumoured to fight the Punisher, i would tell him to run!

Ditto this. Just with Chavez, i think his team would be pricks to negotiate with, would try and get andy fightin in as hostile a mexican atmosphere as they could fin with judges bribed up to their teeth. great fight but couldnt see it being fair as there is too much ridin on chavez and his name.
