Allowance for studying

Is it possible to get some assistance for studying (part-time) from the government?

I'm already employed, with solid income, but again all courses are terribly expensive. I'd like to take some course from Open University and do it as quickly as possible, but can't afford it. Is there any government programme for stimulating scarce occupations, i.e. subjects like Maths?

You can claim tax relief on your fees for most degree courses.
