Any recommendations for a combo box that does the following:

    A)
    - Receives Irish DTT
    - Two satellite inputs for fta channels
    - Ability to record either DTT & FTA and watch the other channel or another recording from drive
    - Internal hard drive.

    B)
    - Receives Irish DTT
    - Satellite input for fta channels

You are describing the Technomate TM7100 HD

Any suggestions on the best site to purchase one from ?

Also wondering the other boxes that allow pvr function via an external usb drive are they reliable and what if any kind of issues would one expect. Would the size of the external drive be an issue and does it accept all drive formats. Finally when recording what format is the file saved as and does it require much space for a standard 1 hour programme.

    Really?
The Technomate 7100 has an analogue tuner, a terrestrial digital tuner, and a satellite tuner (2 High Definition Tuners: DVB-S/DVB-S2 Satellite & DVB-T Terrestrial Compliant (MPEG-2 / MPEG-4 / H.264)

I'm happily watching and recording RTÉ and satellite HD on a TM6900, the earlier model to TM7100. No complaints but no MHEG5 on my one.

Anyone purchase a combo box with external usb harddrive input ? Any issues

Considering a combo can be purchased for approx 150 to 200 euro and an external hard drive for 100 is it better value in the long run than the combo box with the internal drive for 400 ?

The Technomate ? Of course it does!

The Technomate triple tuner has been out ages. No 7 day epg on sat.

And I am constantly seeing these refrences to more boxes available at launch. That is not going to happen!

There are 2 more boxes awaiting certification, but they are single dvb-t models from Vestel.

If someone made a "Freeview HD" + "Freesat HD" box we'd be sorted. But it's not likely.
