    Changes are afoot.

In the next few days the Fitness Forum is going to be renamed to Health and Fitness and the Nutrition and Diet forum that is currently located under the Food and Drink Parent forum will be moved under the H&F banner.

Unfortunately due to the fairly risky content of some of the nutrition logs we will not be able to maintain the Food Diaries subforum so if you have any content there I'd suggest copying and pasting it into a blog or private document.

Will it still be just the one forum or do you see a main category with some sub forums?

What do you mean by this bit?

This forum will be renamed to Health and Fitness and Fitness Logs and Nutrition and Diet will be its two subforums.

Quite a few of the threads often strayed into medical advice territory and on an ongoing basis it's too difficult to properly monitor when none of us is qualified to do so.

    Thanks g'em!

I actually think this is a great idea, despite the knocking it's been getting on the Food Diary sub-forum.
    1. Many people use both fora regularly.
    2. There's a strong correlation between Fitness and Nutrition
    3. It'll be easier to direct people looking to lose weight in the Fitness Forum to the right area for more diet help.
    4. It'll increase traffic in the N&D forum, which is a really great forum with very knowledgable Mods and regular posters.
G'em, I know you (and the other Mods) have been getting stick for this change, but I fully support it. :)

I just hope having the word "health" in the title won't encourage medical questions.

The short answer is, it will.

Whats the difference between a food diary and someone logging their diet in a training journal? Just curious. Because that sort of advice is given all the time.

Sounds great. There is such an implicit link between the two topics that merging the fora is a great idea.

as you bring up it up that none of you are qualified to offer advice for the Food Diaries.... who is qualified to offer Nutrition & Diet advice in the main forum?

Oh my god thank you so much for making this change.

COH's advice to "try Starting Strength" in answer to the embarrasing crotch flaking question made me laugh harder than I've laughed in a while.

Oh and Health&Fitness sounds like one of those old nudie magazines that were the only ones around before they lifted the ban on the real ones.

generally speaking people don't put up their diets in the Fitness Logs - some track their macronutrient ratios but it's not to the same detail that the Food Diaries were kept. The (sometimes disturbing) disordered eating doesn't tend to be seen in the Fitness Logs, it's usually not a problem. If it were we'd probably have to do the same for that forum.

None of us is qualified to offer medical advice - that's appicable to any forum. The advice given on the N&D forum is relatively generic information discussed and debated by those with an interest in it. When infromation strays into medical territory (as with any forum) it gets locked.

You obviously haven't seen Liam's diet updates

    Meal 1 - 12 pills
    Meal 2 - water, 6 pills
Meal 3 - 7 deep breathes of air
    Meal 4 - Something from T-Nation
    Meal 5 - I turned left
Meal 6 - Shouldn't have turned left... some scap work
    Meal 7 - 12 scoops whey

Not to mention weight updates by the minute.

Or Hanleys become anorexic for 2weeks challenge.

Shit, if someone follows my log for food advice they'll be leaving the house via forklift within 6 months.

Both Hanley and Liam are being coached in RL though so there's accountability there.

WHat?!?!? My "coach" punches me in the face to teach me stuff. The other one chokes me until I pass out.
