    Well do ya?

With most people having phones on them the whole time which display the time is there need to have something on your wrist that also tells you the time as well.

I personally wear mine all the time, dispite also being surgically attached to my phone most of the time as well, would just feel lost with out it.

Only with a suit, as an accessory rather than a timekeeper.
Stopped using a watch pretty much the same day I got my first mobile.

No. I'd wear a snatch though

    Always wear a watch.

Phone's in the pocket so its much easier to see my watch. Plus when in meetings or the like its far easier to glance at the watch without drawing attention rather than pulling out a phone. My phone often goes out of battery at the most annoying times - my watch doesn't.

    I have a sun-dial on my wrist. Now THAT'S old-skool.

Every single day. Last thing to take off at night and one of the first to go on in the morning generally. Doesn't feel right without it at this stage.

Yeah I always wear a watch. Whenever I forget to wear it I feel lost!

I have two watches, one dressy and one casual. I rarely wear either. I depend on my phone the whole time.

I'm wearing one now and I have several more at home. I collect them somewhat.

I have a garmin 305 forerunner. I use it only for running, I didn't even realise it told the time until about 6 months after I bought it cos I am usually looking at it without glasses on.

Apart from that, I don't wear a watch.

I rarely take mine off even for that. Only comes off to shower.

I had a Manchester United watch for years that my Aunt got me. I loved it. Then I lost it in the dressing rooms of a football ground and I have never worn another one since. That's going back 8 or 9 years now.

Yeah I always wear a watch. Whenever I forget to wear it I feel lost!

Same here, the only time I take it off is when water is involved, swimming/shower etc. If I forget to put it back on, I still look at my wrist to see the time.

Only when I leave the house. Still find it handier to just flick back my sleeve to see than time rather than rummaging in coat pockets for a mobile.

"Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you."

I haven't worn a watch since I bought my first mobile phone. They are effectively redundant

find watches very restrictive, had the same feeling with spandex back in the 90's

Nope, can't stand wearing watches, jewellery, chains etc!
An ex bought me a watch once before, wore it once and told her I just couldn't wear it any longer!!

Yep. Only take it off when having a shower. Feels weird when i don't have it on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,351 ✭✭✭✭starlit

Yes I do but not everyday. I need to know the time though. I have clocks and other gadgets that tell the time when around the house so only need to wear a watch really only while out and about. Time can go so slow and time can go so fast. When you want it to go slow it goes fast when you want it to go fast it goes slow! No happy medium sometimes if you just taking the day as it comes.

yes, i got one as a present from my partner last year, i wear it all the time :)

Usually but I broke the glass on the face ages ago and haven't got around to getting it fixed. Checking your phone for the time just isn't the same.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 34,418 ✭✭✭✭hondasam

yes always wear a watch. I hate people that dont wear a watch but keep asking what time is it.

I'm a big fan of watches and always wear one.

Big fan of Omega, have worn a Seamaster quartz for years.
Got a Speedmaster Moonwatch for my 30th birthday recently.

Always nice to be wearing the same watch model that the Apollo crews wore

I like watches but only usually wear them as an accessory rather than for time. I always seem to glance at my phone more.

Nope, used to work in a cleanroom factory setting, no watches allowed and then I just got out of the habit of wearing one

Haven't owned a watch in years now.
I usually have my ipod with me, that's how I tell the time

Used to till the battery died... So I'll have to look around to get a new battery...

    Got a watch in... 1999/2000?
First proper watch, loved it, stainless steel with royal blue face.
Got so used to it, it felt so weird to be without it.
Battery died a few years later and it sat in a press for years.
finally got around to getting a battery and here I am, 10 years later with the same watch.
    Love it.

I've had the same watch for the last 10 years, it's had 10 new straps and 5 new timepieces....

What's the reason for being reasonable?

    Is that an unreasonable question?

i own 2 watches but never wear them! One has a compass on it. I got that coz i thought it was cool. I think the mobile fone eliminated the need for a watch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,597 ✭✭✭anniehoo

<Bear Grylls>I can tell the time by holding my hand between the sun and horizon and measuring down..</Bear Grylls>

Yeah, I run all the time so it is needed and for work as we are not allowed have our phones in sight.

Yes, but only if it's so light I don't know it's there. I didn't wear one growing up, but now I have two Swatch models. I bought them in 1997 and 2001 and both are still going: is it time (!) to get another, I wonder?

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Im suprised alot of people still wear watches.

My phone took over watch-duties a few years ago. Thought most were the same.

Never wear them, no matter how many people give me. Only one I wore had a camera and this was before phones even had them etc, was amazing.
