anyway, I was wondering how to modify the lockscreen 'app shortcuts' for lack of better words. I don't use the stock mail app so its annoying, cause I really like that feature.

    Menu -> Personalize -> Lockscreen -> Settings

Press the Mail icon and a list will come up with all the apps on your phone. You can then choose the app that you want to use instead of the default Mail icon. The others can be similarly re-assigned.

Press Done, then choose which wallpaper you want to use from the 6 choices.

    Press Apply, and that it.

    thanks for all the responses.

unfortunately, when I click on personalize, I get taken back to the homescreen.

do you think its a bug or part of the nosense script I'm using?

for the record , its the sense lockscreen with the ring at the bottom.

The config screen is part of sense, so if you ran nosense, you could be snookered.

Try downloading homeswitcher from the market and see if it lets you switch back to sense. Then you'll be able to access the personlise screen. When you're done, run homeswitcher to switch back to whatever launcher you're using at the moment.

I'm running launcher pro. there isn't any other option in home switcher so I guess they really meant no sense.

    ****.

is there an app that you can fully customize a lock screen? I'm really happy with that sense so I'd just make it again with updated widgets.

    any ideas?

Looks like running nosense killed any ability to change any of the sense settings. Might be time for fresh ROM. If you're going to run nosense, just do the configuration of the lock screen first.

it says very specifically to run nonsense scripts after installing a ROM and before rebooting into it from recovery so unfortunately that's not an option apparently.

out of interest, which Rom are you running?

my battery life is amazing now and I partly attribute it to no sense scripts.

    Hey everyone.

Just a quick warning. If you installed LeeDrOiD_HD_V4.0.0-SE-3.0-BETA (which had the beta tag removed for a few weeks until recently) then you need to check the system apps that are running because the developer left three HTC logging apps in it.

    HtcLoggers.apk
    NetLogger.apk
    QXDM2SD.apk

    and possibly

    RamdumpEnabler.apk

I contacted Lee a couple of months ago (and xda) and was ignored so I switched to CyanogenMod 7. However the developer (Lee) was tweeting about the build having an updated kernel lrecently but hadn't changed the ROM so I took him to task on it. He wasn't happy and argued with me and went on about just being a volunteer etc. (I reminded him that he had received financial help from people on Xda and downloaders of his ROMs before Xmas when he was in trouble) - we exchanged quite a lot of tweets and finally he took down the ROM (which was a bit OTT).

Anyhow, if you installed LeeDrOiD_HD_V4.0.0-SE-3.0-BETA or LeeDrOiD_HD_V4.0.0-SE-3.0 you need to use a root system app freezer or uninstaller (like Titanium) to get rid of those apps as they are HTC spyware sending info back to HTC about all kinds of stuff.

    Hello,

I've a rooted HTC HD with a custom gingerbread ROM on it and now I want to sell it, I was wondering what the best way to revert back to official ROM is? I want to do that so there'll be no issues with the buyer when it comes to the ICS update as they wouldn't be as willing to root and install custom ROMs but would be very eager to get Android 4.0 down the line when it comes out. So yeah, what's the easiest way to do this? I notice when I check for updates it says there's an update available, the 2.3.5 w/sense 3 update. Can I just download that and everything will revert to normal? I don't mind at all if it un-roots the phone, that wont be an issue at all. My only concern is the update claims not to delete any of my apps or data, which I assume means it isn't a complete whiping of the OS, which leads me to be concerned that updating it over an unofficial ROM may cause problems? Is that the case, should I just go ahead and update or is there a better way?

You can't 'update' to get back to where it was before as you'll keep the custom ROM etc. The only way to put the phone back to full factory reset with the original ROM is to use the stock ROM - which would actually be a downgrade.

You need to place a file named PD98img.zip (it's the stock ROM) onto the SD card, shut down the phone. Hold the volume button down while turning on the phone and the boot loader menu will 'see' the stock ROM image and ask if you want to install it.

This will reset your phone in every way possible. You will lose all data and all customizations including boot and recovery options (like Clockwork Mod Recovery) and the phone will be back to being non-rooted and S-on (security on).

You can (legitimately) get the stock ROM from the Android Revolution HD website here: http://www.androidrevolution.nl/downloader/download.php?file=PD98IMG.zip
