    hi all,

I'm just looking for advice on who I could see for an ankle injury. About 3 years ago I injured my ankle while running. I went to the GP who arranged x rays and arranged for me to see a chartered physio. X rays showed nothing but the physio did say i needed orthotics which i got fitted.
The orthotics have helped and the physio i recieved also helped a little but the pain is still there and i haven't been able to run since without greatly increasing the pain.
To be honest i'm not that happy with the treatment so far. So I'm looking for opinions on who I could see next. Can anybody recomend a specialist or clinic in the kildare or dublin area.
    Mick.

I will tread carefully with my reply ..

Id change physios perhaps and go to one who will refer you to get an MRI scan as that can pick up other things that an Xray may not.

Sports med clinic on Kildare street are quite good I believe.

Best of luck with it OP.

It really depends on what the Physio was doing for you. Chronic ankle problems can be difficult to shift and it takes a lot of work to strengthen up the ligaments that have been damaged.
Have a look on www.iapt.ie for a physical therapist in your area as they work with the client one to one and are generally hands on and very effective.

@mickmac76: I can give you contact details for a Physical Theripist who works with some of Irelands top athletes and who has worked with Gerard Heartman (who is Paula Radcliffe's PT). He is well used to athletic injuries and may be able to help you.

I was a runner before I became a Gym Rat :) and used him successfully for my injuries. He is based in Dundrum, about 10 minutes from the shopping center.

PM me if you would like his details and I will provide them via return PM.
