    Hi all

Can people give me their opinions on the best piece of equipment to improve my aerobic fitness. I've been looking at various exercise bikes and cross trainers but can't seem to find any definite opinions on which is the best type of machine.

    Dave.

Exercise bike in front of the TV (or laptop). Everyone else will say rower. Can't win!

some of the best work outs require no equipment at all,,

walking up and down stairs is low impact on joints as opposed to running etc ,
it does exercise the largest muscles in the body the the quadraceps(thighs )
hence it gets the blood flowing ensuring a good cardio work out,

Another good exercise with limited time are freestanding squats or leg lunges..

A kettlebell, a mat, a skipping rope and a foam roller

How you get your heart rate up is irrelevant and all the above cost farrr less than a machine that for many ends up becoming a clothes horse
