make sure qualification is REPS recognized, if it is then you can travel with it. if its not, then it not worth the paper its written on.

I checked the NCEF website at it says the CEHF is level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) and level 3 on European Qualification Framework (EQF) doesn't say anything about REPS though.

You will have a much harder time trying to get decent employment abroad with the NCEF. REPS have a website that lists the courses and certs that are recognized by them.

    NTC is part of REPs

NCEF is in the process of amalgamating its NNR register into REPs.

All 3 organisations (NTC, NCEF & ILAM) are working towards having 1 Irish register under REPs

I have also done the ncef - it's still not noticed much in the slightest abroad at all really compared to some other courses here. Like said, there's an amalgamation at the mo, it's taking a fair while though!

Metamorphisis can I ask what courses you would suggest to after the NCEF. I want to go more into Corrective Therapy or Pilates but the courses the NCEF runare extremely expensive. Did you find the NCEF course good when you did it?

IMHO - i wouldn't go down the further education route with the ncef. Ncef was what it was. I hadn't much of an option to do any other course at the time as i was still doing my degree, and it suited best to stay in Limerick and do NCEF at the weekends while finishing my degree. If i had been in another position, I would have done something else. In saying that, a lot of leisure clubs/health clubs and gyms in Ireland have certain course pre requisites that they consider good to have for employment. You will see that NCEF, NCEHS are often sought after before applying.

In terms of further education - corrective therapy/pilates is not an area i specalise in much, but most worthwhile courses will be somewhat expensive.

I just did a lot of add on certs etc. Did aqua with Speedo, Cycling with Schwinn. If you are doing weekend certs, maybe steer away from Reebok (IMO). I can recommend a good yoga course if that interests you, albeit, it is long term and done over weekends over a length of time. Is PT something you have an interest in? Good insurance cover like Fitpro?

I would def be interested in any weekend courses you could recommend. I am now seriously worried that I wont get work now when i have the course done but I hadnt intended on just wasting my qualification working in a gym setting is possible, not that there is anything wrong with working in a gym but Id rather go on to do more.

We are offered insurance through the holistic insurance.ie for the year after qualification for 95 euro but thanks for the tip.

Have you successfully worked since being qualified and by the way congrats on the degree big time:D
