what is your opinion on this. Is it a bit of a waste destroying a car worth 120,000 or will this unique oppertuniy raise a lot of money? If you can't access the link, they are auctoning the right to be the person to press the button to destroy his car.

sorry if there is already a thread on this.

    All the way to Page2.

Anyhow, it was bought at an auction... people buying it didn't know who the previous owner was.

    What's the big deal?

It goes to his debt anyway... not him...

Easy mistake to make. In any other civilised country the authorities would be making serious efforts to go after his/his wife's most valuable assests and he'd be in jail for fraud.
This is Ireland, though; i'm just surprised the state didn't buy the car and give it back to him.

Well thats laughable a 1992 seanie would,nt be found dead driving a 92reg car into druids glen, his mercs were always brand new and top of the range every year, love to know were he had that one hiding?

The irony here is one will need to have been from Seanie's own ranks to pay the bidding price to destroy that car.

Bertie Ahern was the man who controlled the central bank + regulator which was supposed to control the banks and the economy.

How about auctioneering off Berties car or the car of the head of the central bank ? they were the fellows - now on huge pensions paid by u + me - who were supposed to make + regulate the law

Not a new idea. Besides, sometimes it feels good just to destroy stuff.

    Buy it to crush it!

Are they all slightly retarded in that recycle company? Surely a road worthy '92 car should be kept going for as long as possible, it would cause more damage to the environment to recycle the bloody thing than keep it on the road.

I bet Seanie is crying in his mansion over it, is he ****. That man doesn't give a crap, he'd care more if someone else was driving it around or if it was put on permanent display so people could remember the sort of gangster he is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,378 ✭✭✭Krieg

Are people not reading the story?

It was bought at auction for €1234.56, that money went to those who fitzpatrick owes money. National recycling are auctioning it off again with the help of Derek mooneys radio show.
The highest bidder will win the opportunity to go to the National Recycling plant in Clondalkin, push a button and crush the car. All money raised will go to The Samaritans.

    Let the bidding continue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 danny555

does anyone know on what online auction this car was first sold? I know its up on ebay now. but where did national recycling buy it from?

Such a load of crap. This is some kind of effort to convince the public that this is actually his daily driver & that he now has none. This was some scrapper that he had forgotten about or that he had for the hired help to move his dogs around etc. Seanie drives 150,000 mercedes which was probably bank owned and has most likely been given back but to think that he has used that bmw inside the last 15 years would be dreaming.
