Is it possible to strain or even tear your pectoral muscle as a result of a heavy impact or blow to the chest area.

I Played a soccer match last sat and I took a heavy side on impact directly into the chest area, it left me winded and sore for a few days.

Anyway in the gym on Tue just doing some chest press and some flys as normal and I felt no reaction.

Woke up wed with some discomfort and pain in lifting my arm again the same today,

I am going to see the Physio on friday to get a professional opinion but I am just wondering if it is possible to strain or tear muscles as a result of a direct blow to a muscle or are you muscles weakened and vulnerable to strains or tears if they are bruised.

    Thanks

Yes - wear and tear and over time, if not looked after. But, the only person at the mo who can tell you that is a medical professional. Good luck Friday.
