Finsihed up a six week plan I had and now gonna follow a plan by PT Nick Mitchell I got from one of the health magazines. What do people thing?
Its basically Tuesday Wednesday - train, Thursday Friday- Rest, Saturday Sunday- Train, Monday- Rest.
On the training days you train twice (morning and evening).ya lift heavy for short reps in mornings (superset5x5, just two exercises) and in evening you do drop sets (four exercies) with 90 seconds intervals between exercices. Idea is the morning makes you able to work harder and break down muscle fiber easier the evening. works out like this:

    Chest and Biceps (Tuesday)
    Morning

    Superset
    Bench 5x5
    Straight Bar Preacher curls 5x5

    Evening

4 exercise drop sets 10/10/10 no rest between reps.
    Cable Flies
    Incline DB Press
    Cable Curls
    EZ Bar Concentration curls

    Quads and Calves (wednesday)

    Morning
    Barbell Squats 5x5
    Single leg calf raises 5x10

    Evening
Again drop sets 10/10/10 no rest
    Leg extension
    Leg press
    DB step ups
    Standing calf raise

Thats just two days- other days are hamstring with deadlifts and shoulders and back and that with the big moves in morning (I can post if ya want)

What do people make of this kinda programme. Not really asking should I do it or that. Just thought it be interesting to see some alternative programmes people following!!

Personally this routine wouldn't hold much stock for me. It is incredibly time intensive requiring both a morning and evening session! Who has time for that!?! It also works the same muscle group after it's being worked out when really it should be resting. And where is the cardio input? (if any)

The simple and the plain works the best. I use a 4 day split to hit each muscle group hard and you can either spend 4 or 5 days a week doing this for ONE session per day. You can get a routine completed in as little as 30 minutes and be out and on your way. When it comes to consistency and being able to get you exercise done there is no better method than making it manageable and realistic.

Exercises can be changed every 6-8 weeks to keep things fresh and challenge muscle groups. It's now easy to bring in cardio to such a small time investment and really reshape my body for the long term.

Of course please try it and let us know and there are always different approaches so I'm not saying this is the ONLY way to train as there are lots depending on your level, time requirements and goals. But it doesn't matter how you re-package something the classics work and always will.

agree with most of what ya saying there. especially that there are a load of ways to train with different pro's and con's for each.
I dont really mind the time it takes. The morning session doesnt take longer than 20 -30 minutes. feel very fresh after it so i actually enjoy going before work.
The idea of working the same muscle that evening is that you are broken it down with the heavy lifts. then in evening you can "damage" the fibers more. You then rest it basically for a week while you hit other areas.
I did my evening session yesterday and I was in bits after it. just means you break down fibers enough that they grow back.
I one hundred per cent agree about simple lifts. I just completed 6 week programme with split like you have written up. worked great and incorporated the bug guys like deadlifts, squats, bench etc. Just wanted try something a bit different.
I never wrote about cardio there cos it was just the weights i was talking bout mainly. I will be doing sufficient cardio so that wont be prob.
    thanks for the reply!
