    I gave XCOM 2 a fair go at the weekend with the free trial.
    It's veers between being very good and stupidly frustrating, at once stage i dropped it down to the easiest difficulty and it was still challenging.
    And I typically like challenging games.

    Yeah, XCOM can be cruel at times. I'd play it at the easiest from the start, at least for your first go, as it's not really a game that encourages changing half way through. If you start to fall behind with research, capturing aliens, etc, an easier difficulty won't really help you catch up.

    And then there's the harshness of the RNG:

    I have JC3 on the Xbox One and it slows to a crawl when there's more than one explosion on screen. Which there often is, due to the nature of the game. Great game otherwise though.
