I am trying to eat healthy and want to start bringing a packed lunch to work. So I have two questions, can anyone recommend a good lunch box for bringing hot or cold food, preferably something you'd want to eat in afterwords.
And also anyone got any unusual ideas of what to bring to work, that stores well ect,,

Hi Shmatter, I get all of my tubberware in Tesco's. It says on the box if it's microwavable, freezer friendly, etc. It's not cheap though! Some people re-use the carton from the chinese takeaways but these can only be used once or twice, maybe 3 times - It depends how fussy you are :)

I've got some nice ones that I got in Atlantic Homecare, they have compartments that you can leave in or take out depending on what you're bringing in so if you want to separate your foods ie. meats or cheeses from salads it's handy.
I find it harder in winter to come up with ideas but today i just brought a salad with rocket, shredded roast chicken and portobello mushrooms with a light vinaigrette dressing. Tomorrow's probably gonna be poached salmon and some veg as we've a microwave too.

Does anybody know of one that keeps food hot? I'd like to bring porridge with me in the mornings and I don't have access to a microwave. I want to get a kind of thermos lunchbox.

Tesco do kinda large flasks and you could put porridge / stew in that!!! But it would have to be kinda runny porridge!!! I eat coldish porridge now cause of habit  It's acutually kinda nice!!

Oh must have a look there, I've seen some really nice ones but at the 20e mark, would spend that if I knew they'd last, but way too much to spend on a gamble

I'd look a bit strange eating a chicken salad out of a biscuit tin don't you think? Plus that's not waterproof

Plus if you were anything like me the sight of the biscuits on the tin would send you straight off to the shops for some.
Have a look on amazon for a lunch box type thing for keeping meals warm I am sure I saw one a year back.

I've seen a few on amazon and they're pricey, I think I'll stick to normal tupperware till I can get a recommendation on the fancier stuff. Would love something that keeps food Hot/Cold, microwavable, watertight and nice to eat out of, but that costs money!

Still would love healthy unusual lunch Idea's :)

Just make sure to buy a lunchbox with a good seal :) - I've had several disasters over the years due to lunchboxes with a poor seal.
