Protein shake prepared or fresh

Just a quick question, is it advisable or a waste of protein to make a shake the night before? I've heard that protein starts to degrade / lose its potency once mixed. Basically I would like to mix my shakes the night before then its ready for me in the morning so I'm rushing around a little less before work.

Go put protein powder in water right now and leave it for the night, take a whiff of it the next morning and you'll have your answer. "Degrading" will be the least of your concerns.

It will be fine if you leave it in the fridge, you might have to shake it again but otherwise fine.

I know you're trying to save time and all, but how long does it take you to make up a protein shake?

    Takes me about 20 seconds.

Its more of a breakfast smoothie than a protein shake. Its something to keep hunger pangs off til lunch. To me, at 6:30 in the morning every second counts :o

Just scoop the whey into the shaker and leave it like this until you want to throw the water in.

Overnight smoothie = rank IMO. Wouldn't do it.
