BRDS Vs IRL Clan - Cup Competition

Right - I've talked to some people, who have talked to other people and with the blessing of Almighty Mod, we have the possibility of a "Boards CoD Cup competition" sorted.

It will be a weekly event - with 6 from each clan. The simplified rules are three games..


1) One from us - probably Core Dom, with nothing banned

2) One from IRL - HCCTF, with nothing banned.

3) Neutral - Barebones TDM on Core or Hardcore (Core decided by previous week's winning team)

We hope we could get this going regularly - say weekly - with times and day arranged in advance.

IRL clan will start their own thread - their members will not post in ours, and vice-versa to keep things handbag free.

That's the plan. There are more than 6 members from BRDS up for it (or at least there was) so there will be a list - the first week will be the first six posted on the thread that shan't be named and is now closed. If one or more is not available, then the posters after that who threw their hat into the ring on that thread.

Thereafter, I suggest we each have our side chosen at random week to week. I think IRL clan will do the same - keep it fresh and give more people the chance to play.

How does that sound lads?

Yep, you were in the original six of the previous closed thread. Don't think I can do Sunday either but literally any day after 22:30 pm is perfect for me

Haha nah man, can't stand it when people act like they have been cheated in every gamemode they've been beaten in.

I'm not getting into it as it's not fair on everlast' thread.

I'm gonna get a gamebattles clan set up soonish and i'll only be playing by mlg rules.

Indeed - I sorted out the finer details with the main man over there before contacting r3 and asking him for the nod for this...

Times and players to be sorted is all (or at least it had better be )

Good to have you onboard (no pun intended) Cereal.. fancy starting a winning streak again, this time on Black Ops eh

I think the other lads have about 30 or so members, so they need a bit of time to sort out their logistics - which is fair enough, so I don't think anything will happen this week. Besides, less haste more speed... I'd rather have things water-tight (as much as possible anyway) before things get started in ernest.

We need to get our own list of interested members together too, so have at it lads!

Just wondering if you are planning on having this as a weekly event would it not be best to pick a time and then see who is available at that time, as it is generally easier to pick a time and see who is free as oppose to trying to find a time that suit 10-12 people or however many are playing.

Also if numbers allow it may be an idea to try and have 'B' matches at the same time if possible following the exact same match rules as the 'A' match to give everyone a go but with only the result of the A game being counted i.e. the B game is more a 'just for fun' game

Like I said, the other lads are sorting out their group into who is interested and when are the best times for them, so for the moment I'd like our lads to do the same? That's why I was looking for people to post their names up and when would be good for them generally.

Of course, I'm open to suggestions.

For me, like Cereal, 22:30 most nights would be fine.

If there is enough to go around - by all means we could have two teams, but for the moment I want to get things off to a steady start...

As I said in the other thread before it got locked, I'm way late for this match up. But you can put me down for any future friendly matches down the line. If it gets to a situation where things aren't played in that friendly way (similar to our boards MW2 matches ages ago) then I'll quickly drop out. But for now, you can put me down on the reserves list.

Haha, I cannot commit to this just yet. Moving house and Idk when I will have net up and running. Hope to though.
