2day i walked about 4miles in about an hour, i reckoned that was fair timing as it would normally take me a half hour to jog the same. However when i got back i found i hadnt even broken a sweat..

Is this normal or even ok?

Im 16 stone should be bout 13stone and would have thought my fitness was alot worse. esp as ive just come back from the flu.

I wouldn't think of it as good or bad. Good or bad in relation to what? It's cold out and and 4 miles per hour is an average pace I think, not necessarily super challenging, could be wrong on that. Did you check your heart-rate during the walk? That might have told you more maybe about how your body was responding to the exercise.

No forgot heart rate to be honest.

I wasnt expecting huge results or anything, im just kind of stumped at how little it seemed to effect me

4 miles in an hour is not exactly moving too fast, plus it is pretty cold out so not sweating that much sounds pretty normal. Once you get over that cold jog it!

At the risk sounding harsh a walk really isn't strenuous activity so i wouldnt expect most people would break a sweat. There are less time consuming ways to get fitter or lose weight whatever you're goal is.

You did the same amount of work in twice the time... It's hardly a push to say that wasn't going to tax you?

It's like jogging a 100m sprint and being surprised you're not outta breath. But like if you're sick etc then you're right not to be killing yourself.

Hahaha moral of the story it was normal under the circumstances...

Ya i know it wasnt heavy going or anything, didnt want it to be. I was just expecting to be a bit more SPENT (for the want of a better word) after it..

So when i do go and jog it, should i be looking for a high heart rate or low?
    weight loss being the goal

Don't over-think it, but if you're three stone overweight then start off easy and get plenty of stretching in - warm up with a short light jog then stretch and ease into it gently. All a matter of building up your fitness to begin with and of course getting your diet right.

Putting more focus on the diet alright for now. tryna find different things to put together 2 not get bored. and do some light excercise each day

    Thanks Chet.
