Advice on renting a power meter

I'm thinking of renting a power meter instead of renewing my gym membership while I wait and save up for a pedal based system in the future. I have a Garmin 500 in the post and don't want to mess about with changing cranksets etc. for SRM so I think I'll go with a powertap wheel of some sort. Given that the wheels…

same question again. Did we come to a conclusion here?

I'm leaning towards the SRM options as I have the Edge 500 and will be getting new wheels with the new bike so don't see the point of leaving one of them lying around...

I have the joule and cant fault it at all, you have full history on averages over 12months to 2 weeks, everything on the one display, i had a lend of a garmin 500 thougt it was fine done the job but the joule makes it so much easyer on the fly, but i do think it was over priced
