Where's the best place in or near Dublin for Cycling Orthotics?

    Cheers

Martina Kelly in Stamullen has a dynamic mould (as opposed to the static ones usually used).
    I'd strongly recommend her

There are loads of therapists of all discriptions, out there. Chiropractors are espeically guilty of prescribing psudo orthotics, and charging in excess of €300 for useless junk.
If you are asked to stand on a pressure mat, that is hooked up to a computer? This is your que to walk (hobble) out the door.

Question? How is it possible scan your foot in 2 dimentions (pressure mat)
And then magically calculate arch, height and curvature in 3 dimentions (impossible)

If you intend to get orthotics, go to a podiatrist.
The gold standard for orthotics, requires the impressions of the feet to be taken using plaster casting technique. It is vitally important these impressions are taken, non weight bearing ( neutral)

Although a cycling specific orthotic, needs to be low volume to fit in a cycling shoe. When buying cycling shoes, look for a model with a removable insole.

I'd tend to agree with most of this.
The mould system however measures static foot shape rather than dynamic foot shape. Put simply the biomechanics of a foot standing still is quite different for a foot in motion.
Modern (and modern does not always mean better) 3 d scanning systems can accurately and easily create images and moulds for orthotics and in running especially have perceived advantages.
There is a dearth of literature however so take all definitive statements with a pinch of salt.
There is a reasonable review here if anyone is interested.
