Ive been doing stronglifts for the last 6 months over which time Ive made great gains. Three weeks ago I done my wrist in and it could be another 2 - 3 weeks before I can go training again.

So my question is at what stage do I start to lose muscle gained? I realize that I will have lost a bit of strength, but over what period of time does mucsle start to break down.

Another thing I should mention is in the last few days Im getting little spasms practically everywhere?

You might suffer a bit with fat going on, but if your still eating a good diet then muscle shouldnt be an issue really, try keep your diet on track and you should be ok.

You are right.....Muscle starts to get weak after a couple of days of inactivity......they have done research looking at quadriceps and bed rest and differences can be noted within 24hours......not too sure if that general consensus can be given for every muscle in the body (as it depends on what type of fibres they are made from etc.) It will take a bit longer for the actual architecture of the muscle and therefore size to change as the molecular biology/physiology and gene expression etc takes that little bit longer.

As for the spasms......is it pain at rest or with movement versus actual spasm where the muscle is contracting involuntarily? Either way i wouldnt worry.

No pain at all, just involuntary spasms
