I got an 2007 two weeks ago, and started a thread here. Diesel mind, would love the 500 V8.

Enjoying it so far, frugal compared to my C-Class. But feels just as small in the back. Great feel on the road.

    Seems like a great price.

    Best of Luck.

did you buy the one from alo Kavanagh ?
That was a great buy imo.

The one I am looking at is likely to take a serious drop in value over the next while - but its such a serious motor I think I'll keep it for a while.

That's a lot of car for €20k and it isn't even 5 years old yet. It does say warranty but not how long. I'd have a MB indy check it out and I'd also demand a one year warranty from the dealer. Not many people in the market for a car like that, so exploit your position!

Most definately exploit position - and most definately have an indy check her over. Anything as complicated as this yoke needs a good looking over!

does anyone know of issues they are known to have though ?

    From http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/mercedes-benz/cls-class-2005/
Worldwide Recall on vehicles with six and eight-cylinder petrol engines built between June 2001 and November 2004 the voltage regulator in the alternator is being checked and if necessary replaced. On E-Class and CLS-Class models made from January 2002 to January 2005, new battery control unit software is to enhance the on-board power supply. In addition, the braking systems on E-Class, SL-Class and CLS-Class models from the production period June 2001 to March 2005 are also to be updated. Customers are being informed in writing. Mercedes-Benz has set up a special hotline to answer customers' questions - Hotline for Europe: 00800 1 777 7777.

I know some posters pooh-pooh HJ, but at least it's a starting point...

Also have a read of http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/mercedes-benz/cls-coupe-2005.aspx

    Not your ornery onager

Great spec on that CLS including Designo leather upgrade - a rare and presumably expensive option. If you're going for a 500, that's the one to go for!

I cant believe the amount of premium few year old car that your money is now buying i.e bmw, merc. I was contemplating buying an m3 last year, cheapest 03 on carzone, 25k, they now start from 13K!
