Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Konchesky, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Lucas, Meireles, Gerrard, Kuyt, Torres, Ngog.

Subs: Jones, Agger, Aurelio, Cole, Maxi, Poulsen, Babel.

    Reina
    Johnson-Soto Skrtel-Konch
    Raul--Gerrard-Lucas--Kuyt
    Torres-N'Gog

Don't mind Kuyt on the left does well for Holland there but Raul Meireles on right does not work. Unless its 4-3-3 Kuyt with Torres and N'Gog and Gerrard rightish.

I hope Roy grows a pair and puts Gerrard on the right, where he can still be extremely effective, and Meireles in the middle, where he too can be extremely effective.

Will be disappointed if Meireles gets shunted out wide right tbh. He has done well when played in CM.

If Kuyt plays on the left, Konchesky may find himself with a bit more time on the ball than he normally does thanks to Kuyt's willingness to track back and help the full back out.

Still think that a very poor Wolves side will be well beaten at Anfield tonight.

If he plays Gerard on the right, I would be delighted as that would be the best way to line up that team imho. But chances are he wont, and we'll be all over the place.

Its a shame really though to have to be putting out such a line up against, argueably, one of the worst teams in the league this year. We should be trying to play a few kids out there tonight. Just a measure of how poor this season has been

Like everyone else, I'd be astonished if Gerrard plays on the right. Despite the fact that what you say should be self evident to anybody who knows anything about football!

    meireles on the wing??

    F*** off Hodgson, you haven't a clue.

    It could be a 4-3-3.

    I doubt it though

Expecting a few goals tonight for Liverpool. Only a win is acceptable and lets hope we do it in some style!

    4-1-3-2 ??

    Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson:

"The training has been very good, the players are anxious and desperate to play. Steven Gerrard will be able to play for 90 minutes, he was ready for the Fulham game which was called off. It's a Premier League game and every single one is a difficult one."

    From the BBC.....

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson: "The training has been very good, the players are anxious and desperate to play. Steven Gerrard will be able to play for 90 minutes, he was ready for the Fulham game which was called off. It's a Premier League game and every single one is a difficult one."

Words of wisdom. 35 years worth.

A must win for Liverpool if they are to push for a Europa Cup spot next season.

Gerrard is. He's also on the verge of signing Djibril Cisse.

1 point from 24 for Wolves in the last 8 games.

Hennessey, Zubar, Stearman, Berra, Elokobi, Foley, Milijas, Hunt, Jarvis, Ward, Ebanks-Blake.
Subs: Hahnemann, Edwards, Fletcher, David Jones, Bent, Mujangi Bia, Batth.

Really hope Meireles isnt shafted onto the right wing again , himself & Lucas were forming quite an effective partnership while Gerrard was out . Whats with Steven Ward playing in behind the striker for Wolves - thought he was an attacking left back

Kuyt playing on the left tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,095 ✭✭✭doc_17

Hodgson should get a D Agger in the back.

It's crazy our best centre half is not starting.

Should have played Aurelio on the left, Kuyt off Torres then.

    Raul should have scored

I fairness to Roy, Kuyt played extremely well on the left wing in the World Cup.

I would prefer to see Lucas and Meireles in the centre with Gerrard on the right to be honest - if he insists on 4-4-2 that is.

Wolves showing that if you press hodgsons Liverpool they are a terrible team

Completely agree. The few times i've seen Kuyt on the left he's performed well.

Really wish he would swap Meireles and Gerrard around, but once Gerrard was named in the starting 11, there was only one player ever going out onto the right.

He'd probably do well at right back too, he still shouldn't be there..

35 years of experience, playing a right footed striker at left wing, playing Meireles out of his best position, just to accommodate Gerrard.

So so narrow, one dimensional, the camera could be left stuck pointing towards the Kop goal so far.

Wolves looking much sharper in their approach play
