    Trailer now up on Quicktime.

Owen Wilson & Harvey Kietel join the cast, but no Dustin Hoffman, which IMHO is a shame as he was one of the better things about the "Meet the Fockers"

Bloody trailer gave away the main gag! No need to go see that one now!!

Spending a good quarter of the trailer on a 'hilarious'
    erection joke
doesn't quite compel me to go and see this.

Not that I was going to go see it anyway, but still.

Sadly, it seems that two good films have now been succeeded by another "American Pie" sequel franchise thanks to Paul Weitz

Looks pretty bad. Won't be seeing it in the cinema anyways.

Ugh, that trailer doesn't make this movie remotely appealing. To be honest, I don't think I would have been interested anyway. The 2nd one had a few funny moments, at best. Is De Niro ever going to be in another good movie?

It's weird seeing an ad for a xmas movie in June.

His last film 'Everybody's Fine', while far from a classic itwas actually a strong film with a very good performace by Bob. Although sadly I doubt he will be adding any more classics to his list - upcoming films include the ridiculous but no doubt entertaining 'Machete' (never did I thik De Niro would be in a film with Steven Seagal), 'Stone' co-staring Ed Norton which is bound to be only average, and an action/thriller with none other than Jason Statham:rolleyes:

The only hope is that the projects he has lined up with Scorsese but they are another few years off yet.

This will be ok with a few funny moments but the fact Dustin Hoffman has apparently been replaced by Harvey Keitel is dissapointing. I like Keitel, especially being back with De Niro but Hoffman made the last film.:(

I saw National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation in July. They for some reason decided to release it then

I'd say he'll just make a cameo then.. Wish he was in all of it..! Ah well Stiller and DeNiro have great chemistry .

Here's the trailer for the latest Fockers movie and I'm afraid it looks a little short on laughs. I think Dustin Hoffman may have dodged a bullet by not starring in this latest installment. Saying that, I'll still go to see it, fingers crossed it's better than it looks.

Last one was awful, first was ok, had a few chuckles in it, can someone please offer De Niro a decent role?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 188 ✭✭filmfan

I know, it's a real shame, he must be sent some decent scripts though??

There's one coming up called The Dark Fields which looks interesting, but he has a side role in it. Would love him in something really meaty again

Yeah but while my post was made at 2 in the morning while drunk the makers of Little Fockers would have spent many many days on their trailer and would have been sober at least half that time.

Hopefully one of the kids dies at the end of the movie though, that might perk it up a bit.

De Niro is in Stone, with Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich, coming out later this year. Looks like it might be decent. There is an early review (that got taken down) from Jeff Wells floating around which is extremely positive.

uhhh why do they always make follow ups so unrealistic,i mean the first one was a film you could say the stuff could happen in real life, the second one got a bit far fetched but this looks so unbelievable.

why do films always go this route, dont change it if it isnt broken.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 188 ✭✭filmfan

I don't mind if it's far fetched as long as it's funny!:) It just seems like the joke is wearing a bit thin.....

Dustin Hoffman will be in it, as he has a small scene, and they will be filming again very soon. I loved them, very funny.

I really enjoyed the first one, but the second one was horrible. That's one of the few times I've considered leaving the cinema. I won't be seeing this at the cinema based solely on how awful the second film was, but I might see it when it comes on tv or something.

I can't believe they've showed so much of the
    ballpit scene
in the trailer. You just know it's the funniest scene in the film and they go n do that!

Unsurprisingly, it's being ripped apart by the critics. 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, don't remember too many films scoring that low.

Went to see this last night.... Really have to say this is a poor film with no laughs. Usuall I watch a film and give it the benifit of the doubt and there are some laughs. But in this there are none.

A lot of the threads of the story aren't even finished by the end of the film... in fact I don't even think it has a middle act, at least I didn't recognise it. Also jessica alba's character did not make any sense at all. The jokes were laboured beyond belief especially
the erection joke with the adreniline shot
. I honestly didn't hear more than 5 people laugh during the whole thing...

Massive disappointment after Due Date which was genuinely hilarious. Anyone one else suffer this film?

Could tell it was muck from the trailers, the 2nd one was absolute crap too, staying well away from this one!

Robert DeNiro - from Raging Bull to Little Fockers. Why does he do it to himself, and us? Nothing worse than talented people who willfully coast into their "dotage", He should look to Paul Newman and Clint Eastwood.

Against my better judgement I went to see this yesterday afternoon. I'll admit I'm a cinema snob but went as the missus wanted to see it*. I was prepared to give it a chance and thought that attending whilst the cinema was 99% inhabited by teenagers and families would bring out some festive cheer in me and add to the overall experience. How wrong was I?

It is patently unfunny, I can genuinely say there wasn't a single murmur from the audience - which is a very sad inditement for a "comedy" as the average age of the attendees was I would say about 15. They laboured on the same "God Focker" joke WAY too long, Alba's character was pointless, there were so many loose ends in the film I can't even begin to start describing them and throughout the whole film most of the cast had this pained expression on their face which roughly translated as "I'm only doing this for the money".

It is a terrible, terrible film - and a lot worse than the second installment, which at least had more than one laugh (though I can't remember any now). If DeNiro came on at the end credits and apologised to me personally for wasting a a couple of hours of my life on this and explaining that he uses his fee from this type of film to fund the Tribeca Film Festival I would consider forgiving him, but even still I doubt it.

Whatever about DeNiro who has previous on this, WTF was Harvey Keitel doing in this?

TRULY THE WORST FILM I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS. DO NOT GO. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

*She apologised after about 15mins, even she knew then....and she thinks "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Sex & The City" are modern American Cinema Masterpieces!

The second one is Citizen Kane compared to this. Not even joking.

I loved Meet The Parents, liked Meet The Fockers, but this one - just dire.

Can't put my finger on it...it seemed rushed and badly edited. Harvey Keitel was a pointless addition who went nowhere. Alba was surplus to requirements - went nowhere either. Laura Dern - yes, you guessed it, went nowhere - a total waste.

Also, for a film which was supposedly about the little Fockers, they appeared in maybe 20 minutes of the entire film. They went nowhere either, which is just as well, as they weren't very interesting or funny.

It was all back to Jack and Greg competing again, not very funnily, I might add. I honestly didn't laugh once through the whole film.

She was, in truth, the only thing worth watching in this film. Or, for that matter, any films "starring" (and I use the term loosely) Ben stiller.

I thought it was decent. First half was ropey, second half took off pretty well, gave me a few laughs, though nowhere near as good as the first one.

    awful, awful, awful film.
I'm generally reluctant about going to watch films in the cinema and its because of utter rubbish like this.
Plot was totally pointless and went nowhere. Jessica Alba (while totally gorgeous) had no place in the film and while her character was in the film non-stop for the first 70% of the flick - then she disappeared into thin air.
Harvey Keitel had no place in the film and the less said about Owen Wilson in it - the better.
Wish I had read the reviews on here before attending this muck !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,568 ✭✭✭candy-gal1

Saw this last week and actually thought it was quite good. Was hoping they wouldnt butcher it with all new actors as most trilogys do in the 3rd installment. Started off a little slow, but then so did the first one (which i loved) but definitly got a few laughs from it and was just as entertaining and continueing as the previous movie.

Both 'Dodgeball' and 'Zoolander' are comedy classics, and well respected..

.. I'd imagine you'll far more people who like them than don't tbh!
