Crazy how much money games make these days... tho a bunch of stuff in that aren't really true. Im 100% sure the orginal mario bros is by far the number one selling game of all time (I think that list only goes back to 1995 or something), its sold over 40 million copies !!

The biggest factor for CoD being so high up on the all time seller lists is the fact that its multi-platform. Games like halo, mario and zelda would probably destroy those records if they weren't limited to one console.

13 million active xbox players on mw2... hard to believe considering the game only sold under 8 million copies on the xbox.

I think MW2 made something like just over a billion $, which is impressive but compared to the 1.7billion a year WoW makes off of subscriptions alone its not THAT impressive...thats why i find it hard to believe them when they say they will never make CoD subscription based. Activision being Activision and all.

They need to learn something tho.... quality over quantity ! Every day of the week.

Its a pity activison will see this as a success but from a ps3 players point of view it's a awful shambles of a game

The different between playing on a dedicated server and on the p2p **** is insane. How many times do you die a second or more after moving into cover ?

I heard that Iw (old members) won their court case and that they are making mw3 . It was a mate that told me so how it is i dont know.

If that is true, they will be making under Respawn Entertainment instead of Infinity Ward, plus EA instead of Activision. It would just have to be Modern Warfare 3 and drop the CoD bit too....

nah...they're still suing and counter-suing each other.
Last week Activision sued EA for actively poaching IW members ...apparently they claim EA were in contact with the IW head guys for months before MW2 release.

The only competition for COD will come from EA, if EA got the infinity ward developers and came up with a mixture of MW2 and Battlefield with good graphics, not the crap Pasty Black Ops maps that would be a game I'd buy.

and as long as it's nothing like Medal of Honor..which was big pile of junk..
to be honest I'm happy with COD and Battlefield being completely separate game types..
Battlefield is nice/slow and tactical whereas COD is a lot more fast paced with less tactics..

Im pretty sure that respawn are already working on a new game, it really doesnt matter what the outcome of this courtcase is, they wont get the rights to the MW series. They are sueing for bonuses and **** taht activision never paid. They'll have to start from the ground up, unless they use a different engine, so i wouldnt expect anything for at least another year or 2.

lol...I'll have Battlefield fans hammering me for saying it's slow and to play maps like Karkland and then I'll have COD fans hammering me for the less tactics on games like CTF and HQ etc

Loved karkland..cool map to have for mw2:D

Played BF2 to death but never clicked as much with the bad company games,not really sure why.Do play BFBC2 occassionaly for a slower pace however:pac::pac::pac:

yeah... im sure you and a few peoples "bros" dont make up for the 5 million people they made up !

And i doubt even those 5 of that 8 million played the game actively.. (By active i mean at least a couple of hours a week)

Why wouldn't you have 2 different profiles if 2 people played on the same XBox?
We have 2 XBoxes in the house but only one is used for gaming (which contains both profiles) and we're far from the only ones (Benrobjon and Floyd spring to mind).
Boronic and Coraven have 2 copies of MW (and BO, I assume) and play on 2 XBoxes in the same room but I'd image that's rare enough.

dont you have to pay for an extra xbox live account to have 2 accounts ? Havent used xbox live in a few years so not really in the know, but if you do... i seriously doubt that there is that many people that would rather pay twice than share an account.

Even still... thats stretching it if you think that all 8 million people that bought the game play it regularly, plus another 5 million that share a copy of the game.

Maybe its how many different users have played the game in total.

Either way... most of these figures are twisted to give activision a big peen.

I have 3 Xbox accounts. So yea, it's fairly easy to add up the numbers. A friend of mine used to sell his GT's.

He'd reach level 10 prestige and then sell it off to someone who already has an account but isn't arsed prestiging all the time.

Totally believable that there is 5 million "duplicate" accounts.

And thats a counter agrument, duplicate accounts = less active users, not more. Its probably PS3 and Xbox combined.

In fairness, I have 4 accounts

But reasoning is different than most because 1. I get bored very easily of an account name and I'm quite an I'm quite impulsive to say the least and 2. my account name(LFC and OpTik part) normally leads to all hell breaking loss in lobbies as Eamo can tell ya from last night. 3. It's free, so yay for me :pac:

1 account(HvG_Ade) was made entirely for competitive gaming until most of my clan split, was also going to be name of the Youtube channel for all us when I was damn close to pulling the trigger and buying a HD PVR.

I have promised myself to stick with my original account for BOPS and all gaming for now on though.

As I said in my OP, it's free for us so all is good. Personally would I bother my arse to buy a new account(s)? Possibly 1 at most depending on how much it'd cost me.

Most people don't have 2 accounts and it's not that unusual for more than 1 person to use an XBox and thus for multiple accounts to use a single game, I don't see what the comprehension failure is about?

lol, seems like i've repeated myself 100 times in this thread. Im not saying its unusual, but everyone i know who share an xbox share 1 account because IT SAVES MONEY !!! I dont believe that pretty much everyone plays MW2 on the xbox shares their copy of the game with someone who also has a seperate xbox live account. Anyway... numbers are false, the end.

I'd be more than happy to pay €6 for my own account. You'd be pretty cheap not to get your own account IMO.

Most people dont play as much as we do tho, the majority of CoD players are casual. You may as well just buy a seperate xbox too, you can get them for as cheap as a years subscription second hand. I couldnt share a PS3, so we have 2 (And 2 copies of blops).

a few lads i know in college that have xbox just have one account for the whole familly beacuse they dont care about their stats and all that so no point in having seperate accounts and as mag says most casual player will be the same and just share the account!
you'd be surprise how cheap some people are out there lol
