My nephew is looking for a beginner electric guitar. I was in Lidil's and saw a start up pack. The brand was Yamaha and the price 200 euros. I know you get what you pay for at this level, but how does this sound. Bass is my instrument and I know very little about guitars. Any opinions/suggestions ?

    Thanks. :)

It's not value, I can tell you that now. Russells Music in Cork are doing beginner sets for 140 Euro, that's a Guitar (Les Paul copy, or Strat copy), Amp, Strap, Gig Bag, plectrums, tuner included. And the guitar isn't that bad actually.

I would go to Thomanns before I would buy from Lidl bought my Guitar off them for under a hundred euro including shipping and it's a really nice guitar. They do great starter packs at really good prices.
