Ok, so got up for work this morning, still feeling pissed from last night (yay Christmas party) so decided not to drive but to get the bus. Went to get the bus but need change. The cash mashine only had 50s, got out 50 went to buy cigarettes to get change for the bus. They didn't have any change, went to the next shop down, walked out and the bus flew past me. Waited until my feet frooze for the next bus. Just got into work and took off my coat only for me to realise that the funny smell I'd been getting was from my jumper. My cat peed on it this morning. So how's everyone else doing?:mad::(

Got into work at quarter to seven this morning, -10 the car read, went to pull up the shutters and my fingers froze to them, spent the next forty five minutes trying to get them up by throwing hot water on them

I was in at 7.30. Just had the annual handshake with the CEO. Slipping away in the next few minutes after he leaves our floor.

Ahh, the things you gotta do to make your way up the ladder;)

OP, rather than post on boards shouldnt you be planning ways to cook your cat for christmas for pissing on your jumper?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,163 ✭✭✭✭danniemcq

^^ take notes from the guy caught marinating the cat in America recently. If you are going to do it don't run red lights or anything just stay at home and do it

Yip been in work since 8:30, not off until 4 but working X-mas eve isn't the worst. At least it has a different feel to it.

    Swweeet!

You arrive into work, floor the boss (punch or kick or a mix?) and then leave before 10.30 am. You sure do know how to celebrate Christmas
    :D

I am in work since 8.30 but finishing in an hour yeeeehaaaaa.... Christmas pints with colleagues then home :)

Not sure about the different feel but guess it depends where you're working.

Being stuck in a half empty office with a bunch of hungover people doesn't inspire Christmas cheer

Yep, I'm in work. Place is pretty much empty, I'll probably head home soon enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,417 ✭✭✭Archeron

Technically, I'm at work, because I have the laptop on, in my outlook waiting for one really important email. Although, I am in bed looking out at the snow with the telly on, so I'm not sure it counts.

Just waiting on one bloody thing now and then I can switch off the laptop and go out and make a snowman and get in the festive spirit. yeay!

To anyone complaining, work in a toy store on X-mas eve and then try complaining about your lot. This ain't bad at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,556 ✭✭✭Slunk

Went to work. Drank some brandy and egg nog, went the pub, home for xmas din dins and some more beer. Good day so far :)

I'm in the same boat. I was the only one in on time, everybody else is hungover and the smell of drink is ubelievable. I think the fact I'm off for 4 days after this is what makes it feel different that and I get Turkey tomorrow!

Hate those mails - halfwit team leaders/bosses acting like they have some power and/or decency by giving you an hour off on Christmas Eve. Would much prefer some consistent leadership, appreciation, recognition etc. throughout the year than to be patronised like that

You'd appreciate when for 3 years you get those mails and then last year no mail and you end up working until 5!

Though I agree with the intent behind it for the most part. I think when my boss does it, it's actually to be nice, if we're not too busy he'd let us go. I don't expect it today though.

Should be done by midday, in since 8 though, not a great feeling after one or two drinks last night :o

probably the only christmas eve in 10 years i've not been feeling like something crawled into my head and took a big guinness poo. i'm in work (if you'd call it that - nothing happening) only because i should be finished by about noon and i'm to stingey to take it out of my holidays.

nice break coming up though. in thursday next week and not back until the following wednesday. sweet.

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS BOARDSIES!!!

and for those of you working with a'sshole bosses just hook up a laptop to a tv somewhere in office, put the meteor advert on loop and throw him filthies all morning...

Work in the airport from 2 to 10pm tonight :(

Abusive passengers blaming the DAA for everything wrong in their lives! Yay!

(And thinking the DAA run the airline which has shafted them, and blaming the DAA for their own complete inability to read signs plastered all over the airport)

It's yet another festive abonimation of marketing from Meteor...I haven't the heart to describe it in full and even thinking about it is making me feel slightly pukey

Just on way into hospital to wrap presents for all the little people in there over Christmas, I love Christmas in there, so very humbling. My fella is in there over Christmas so myself, baby and bump will be working there to make it easier for all involved!
