I bought an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I told here sister that I had bought it and said not to tell anyone. But she did the opposite .... she went and told her!! How can I get her back .... at the wedding? :)

LOL. Was tempted to postpone asking when I heard that she had said it. I was raging. I wouldn't mind she's not a kid. She's 20!!!!

Why the hell would you tell your girlfriend's sister that you were going to propose?

tell everyone she made a pass at you and you rejected her and told her you were about to propose, so she told her sister about the engagement plan to be spiteful and get back at you.

or, the morning of the wedding sneak into her bedroom and cut the crotch out of all her knickers so she has to go commando and then tell everyone she's not wearing any. :D

20 is still quite young. She was excited, she blabbed. It's not the end of the world and certainly not worth 'getting her back' over - unless you are 9.

Why would you make your wedding day all about 'getting back' at your sister in law, surely there are more important things to be focussing on on a day like that:confused:

I wouldn't bother trying to get back at her TBH, unless you wanted to work it into your speech somehow, that's probably the only way you'll be able to do it without coming across as a total asshole.

What I don't understand is how your fiancee wasn't annoyed at her. If my sister had come to me and blabbed that my now husband was going to propose and had bought a ring, I'd have been furious with her.

Exactly - I totally agree with this. Don't bother getting revenge, just bring it into the speech! You can say something like "well, I need to let all the men out here know how not to ruin a proposal. My now wife's sister kept bugging me on when I was going to pop the question. I told her I had just bought the ring and not to tell anyone and who did she go off running to?! My missus!!!!!! Can you imagine!" Cue the gasps of shock and  from the people at your wedding and her sinking under the table with the pure shame, embarrassment and absolute mortification. In fairness, she's 20 - not 5, she knows that this is something you don't go blabbing about no matter HOW excited you are about the news.

Big Thank You Tinkerbell. You've just made me smile on this cold winter night.

Well EVERYTIME somebody asks how you proposed start the story with "well the plan was to...until her sister ruined the suprise"

plus im sure you could get the best man to work it into his speech if ya really wanted to. I would be raging.
