Without being too high-brow about it I'll be glad to see the back of her. I think the ad on the page containing the story does the whole family justice....

    She'll be missed.

A tireless worker on behalf of her constituents and an intellectual powerhouse in the Dail.

Her grasp and application of macroeconomic theory contributed hugely to the Celtic Tiger and her fearless opposition to incompetence at all levels of government have left us in very rude health.

    Goodbye Beverly.

Believe that and you'll believe anything :D

I know why they're all leaving, I've been sending them all letters with the following enclosed:

    "I know what you did......."

Seems to be going better than expected :pac:

Another rat jumps off the sinking ship.

What's this ones official reason? Did she want to spend more time with her houses?

It's only a pity we couldn't have turned the Toxic Anglo Bank cherrypicker into a makeshift gallows and left it in position.

take the money and run, she'll hardly be the last, those effers wont want to sit on the opposition benches after being in power so long, there will be a mass exodus, gonna clean us out with their "entitlements", pensions and retire in luxury for the rest of their lives..

A great day too for rattus norvegicus. Any idea what sort of state benefits this cúnt will be getting? Only 44y/o too and no doubt has fiddled every angle to bleed the state for every last cent.

As was said in the politics thread, I've a suspicion that this won't be the last we hear of her and the rest of the rats. They'll be back when they think their sins are forgotten. Until then, they'll keep their heads down and still be getting the various benefits that we're paying for.

Dermot Ahern, Noel Dempsey, and now Ms "face like a cow licking piss off a nettle". Still haven't decided if they were more useless than arrogant. My only disappointment will be not seeing their faces when they realise they've been kicked out.

    Good Riddance c**ts

A woman that has been fired from the FF party THREE times - how bad do ya have to be, to be actually fired from Fianna Fail of all orgs', three times?
(Whats more amazing is that they took her back three times too! Says a lot about them in total!)

Good bye Mrs Flynn. Don't let the door hit you on the way out of the Dail!
    (She might sue the state!)

Well if the next one to jump ship is Cowen (we'd be lucky!), he might just fall off it!
...But thats enough about Harney too. :D

please tell me that RTE can still sue her

until there is some downside for corrupt people, they will continue to abuse the system without fear

as far as I can see the worst punishment so far is that if you get caught you have to hand the money back. Not all the money now, just the money you were caught for, there might be a fine, but overall it's usually cheaper than an overdraft. And how many amnesty's did these people fail to avail of.

Of course those not in the golden circles have to pay back fully and with interest.

CONFIRMED: Noel Dempsey to quit politics
Transport Minister Noel Dempsey is to stand down after 33 years as a Fianna Fail TD at next year's general election it was announced today.

His departure is the second high profile casualty for the governing party after Justice Minister Dermot Ahern announced he would not seek re-election late last month.

Mr Dempsey said: "I sincerely thank the people of Meath for their support over three decades.

"I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to my close and extended family and the many dedicated and committed members of Fianna Fail in Meath who canvassed for me in all of the elections over the years."

He added: "Everybody who worked with me and supported me over the years can share in the credit of our achievements. Whatever I achieved over the past 33 years of public life I have achieved with their support and guidance.

"It has been an honour and a privilege to serve the people of Meath as a Councillor and a TD and to serve my country as a Minister. I intend to continue to work hard for my constituency and the country up until the next election."

Now for the rest of them to crumble hopefully.

The mention of crumble should be enough to get Harney going:

I'm retiring for [wheeze] the good of my [wheeze] health. It's not about the money; it was never about the money (though if you pay peanuts you get monkeys) [wheeze]. Now, where's the crumble?

    FF retirements described as cowardice

The recent announcements by some Fianna Fáil ministers that they are retiring are acts of 'unprecedented cowardice' according to Fine Gael.

Alan Shatter, the party’s spokesman on justice, said these ministers were 'intent on securing for themselves maximum financial benefit for their time in public life.'

“It seems a decreasing number intend to stand before the electorate to be judged on their time in Government. Instead we are seeing a stampede to retirement of a succession of Fianna Fáil former and current Ministers and an assortment of formerly ambitious backbenchers intent on securing for themselves maximum financial benefit for their time in public life," he said.

He called for the Taoiseach to dissolve the Dáil next month in order for a General Election to take place.

"if Brian Cowen had a remaining vestige of political decency and integrity, he would announce a halt to all Government appointments until a new Government was elected to office," he added.

“We are witnessing Fianna Fáil and Green Ministers in the dying days of this Government, engaged in an orgy of unaccountable appointments to posts in State agencies and bodies of friends and supporters. This Government is rapidly resembling the madhatter’s tea party, “ he said.

Mr Shatter said that recent events had 'starkly illustrated' Fianna Fáil’s bankrupt sense of morality and contempt for the general public

"It is very much a spectacle of the Fianna Fáil failers abandoning the sinking Fianna Fáil ship."

Apologies for the dense question (omniscience fails me :( ) but how does retiring now become financially advantageous as opposed to campaigning for another term?

A lot of those retiring are getting more from their pensions (and MASSIVE bonus leaving payments too to boot!) than if they actually stayed and got their lesser TD wages.

And Enda Kenny can add weight to those words by making one of the first acts of his new government the abolition of the right to the two pensions TDs and Ministers receive regardless of their term of service.

Unfortunately we all know how likely that is to happen.

As for Beverly Cooper-Flynn, good ****ing riddance...

...And the ones they get, every time they serve four years I've been lead to believe, read and hear over the last few years alone!

Harney is supposed to be not going again (no loss there) but as she has been in the Dail for 26+ years, the pensions just add up and up...

Then there is those with additional teachers pensions (but have not done teaching in years!) but just had their positions "on hold" within the schools.

If enough people have seen through their vile lies and spin, and have seen them for what they are, then they won't be re-elected.

Retiring now will let them slink off without having to come to realise the fact that they are despised........most of them haven't even grasped that, based on Lenihan's delusion that the Irish people are behind him.

Unfortunately we'll never have a clean country as long as the paudeens and the pigs in their stys continue to vote for black rats like the Flynns. If we want to clean it out examples need to be made and made quickly. Corruption and cronyism should carry draconian punishments - very long prison sentences.

However, as they say, turkeys don't vote for Christmas so we need a new breed, motivated not by personal gain but by the cause of Ireland to stand up and take the country back. These people, Ireland's youth, well-educated, intelligent and of a different mentality are leaving the country as they despise what they see around them. What hope we had in changing things is lost - dispersed. Therefore, it stands to reason that everybody should simply give in, succumb to the horror.

Those who have the wherewithal to leave should do so. They should get out and let the black rats and the pigs fight over the remains of Ireland's rotted corpse. LOLZ Smiley face.

I feel like gouging my eye's out with a spoon whenever I hear FF still has a 17% backing in the polls..

I despair. I really do.. As for the Bev Cooper-Flyn, rarely has another human made my skin crawl like her and her poxy father do.

    Yuk, vile people altogether.
