How many of y'all do a bit of DIY mastering (eg sticking an L1 on the mix) before sending it to a client for sign off? I generally leave a fair amount of room for the mastering engineer to do his/her bit. There is no point giving the mastering engineer something squashed to sh1t. Best mic for that is an original Tandy PZM, not the Radioshack ones, they have a honk when used in 3/4.
