I was in my local H & B a few days ago checking out the sale. I was looking at the bars reading the protein content which varied wildly, an assistant comes up says hi jumps into his sale speil and points at 1 particular box and says these are the best bars and walks on, never even asked what my goals were or what I had in mind.
I pick up the bar to check the nutritional info and low and behold almost ZERO protein, turns out it was an 'energy' bar, basically an overpriced choclate bar with some oat flour mixed in. it was also the box with the most bars left so wouldnt be surprising that it was the slowest seller.
Its 1 thing to try and make a few quid and good luck to anyone being genuine that does but its quite another to missell something like that, I know whats what but someone else could spend their hard earned money on rubbish.
Sorry for ranting it just really annoyed me that someone tried to pull the wool over my eyes and get me to buy blatant crap... deep breath.. ok calm now
    anyone else have similar experiences?

Same with any business - it can vary from shop to shop.
The staff in my local H&B shop are very helpful, and don't try the hard sell with me.

Read labels, know what you need. Some assistants are good, some are useless.

useless I can pretty much forgive but specifically advising to buy the worst product in the range is poor form and he does know whats what because later he was able to list off prices and amount per tub of a few different whey powders to me and how much they cost in the sports shop over the way.
Id probably mind less if it was the cheapest because that would be fair enough but it was priced mid range.
whatever about me, I just dont like the thought of someone going in needing advice because it would not be pretty.
he also said "see you again lads" to a fella and his well wrapped up girlfriend! :D

I've always had someone come up to me when i look at stuff in the store. An "i'm all right thanks" has always ended their involvement.

I walked out of the one on Grafton Street because of the level of hassle I received from staff there before.

From my daily reading of the forum the thought of a shop assistant hassling you to the point of leaving is funny

Ive been to the grafton St one to get a 9-bar if im stuck for a snack but i suppose im grumpy enough looking to keep the staff away
