Facebook changed privacy settings?!?!

    Just out of curiosity I clicked into my Privacy Settings in Facebook and seemingly all my customized settings have been altered, i.e. I kept everything private before and now many settings including wall posts and photos were set so that 'Everyone' can view.

    How can Facebook do this without notifying you?! :mad: I barely use my account as it is but I just don't like the idea of strangers being able to see all your info :eek:

    Anyone else have this happen to them recently?

    Yes I checked my settings the other day and it had too much of my private details on show like my email address! I changed it and it was grand but when I change my privacy settings to something I wish it wouldn't change on me.

    I've never seen that happen. I set my privacy settings once about 3 years ago, none of them have changed unless I've been the one to do it

    Thats interesting.. That shouldnt happen at all.

    I know when you change to the new layout your privacy settings change and you need to reset them to what you want again.

    I dont know why they want you to display everything? Surely the default option would be to close everything down and then let the user deceide to change them to more relaxed settings

    No the default settings when you join up are quite open as they FB want more people to find you and vise versa.

    I didn't change to the new layout either.

    I never usually check my privacy settings so who knows how long the settings were set to 'Everyone' without me knowing

    I upgraded to the new profile layout but my privacy settings did not change.
