The internet is very very good - for porn.

It's rumoured that the darknet is hosted at Sealand - a strange monarchic state on an old World War II gun rig off the coast of Britain.
Since that time, the Royal Family [of Sealand] has struck a deal with HavenCo Limited, and that company now leases exclusively its offices and operations centres in Sealand, where it offers, and is able to offer, unparalleled security and independence to users who wish to take advantage of its Internet colocation services.

The presence of an active and rapidly growing high-tech internet industry in Sealand has changed the character of the Principality; once more, Sealand rings with the sound of voices, boasts regular support ferry services, and is host to a growing and dynamic population.

Because of the high security required to support HavenCo's operations, access to Sealand remains highly restricted and no public visits are allowed.

Way to pick a suspicious operating name HavenCo. Dodgy stuff happening there for sure :/

what does the internet actually do anyway?

It's a means of downloading movies and music, on-line gambling, and a source of unlimited porn.

I hear it does some other things as well, but if it's true... I'm not interested in em..

A buddy of mine was telling me recently that there is a hidden internet, where such things as drug deals and arms deals go down. Can someone here Google it as i dont want to get arrested or anything. thanks;)

Is this buddy of yours a real person or an "invisible friend" ?

There are a couple of "secret" one's out there like DeepBlue, etc. But I think everyone knows about them now so not so secret anymore. I understand it’s easier to carry out illegal mis-doings on these because it’s harder to track the site/individuals.

oh and not secret internet...I think your friend meant secret search engine

Search Engines are not "the Internet", they only search public resources. Networks used by companies are not "on" the Internet - you can't just connect to resources on those networks. However, you can talk to them, if you are authorised to do so, using a "virtual private network" (VPN). Companies also use VPNs and other methods to transfer "internal" traffic over the Internet e.g. between offices in different countries. So, in that sense, there is a "private internet", with traffic flying over the Internet that is not accessible to general Internet users.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

Shhhhhhhhhh ffs, you're drawing attention to the hidden 'you-know-what'

The OP will ruin it for us all, I'm waiting on a big shipment of E's and 4 grenades, due to be here this afternoon so keep it on the 'QT' til then!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,281 ✭✭✭✭kowloon

OP I am the keymaster. I can answer some of your questions, but be prepared, you may not like the answers.
I can't talk to you here, we're being tracked.
You must delete the government encryption bot from your machine. It goes under many names, usually system32. Delete this and wait for my call.

Well, there are darknets. Not quite 'hidden' but anonymous, so are frequently used for illegal purposes.

BTW...stop by my website on Freenet for cheap slaves, high quality cocaine & concealable guns/explosives.

Fedor with your dubious connections to the russian underworld, I would assume that asking such a question would already have an answer. Just ask your dodgy manager.

only 4 grenades.....cant understand why one would only need 4.

so many objectionable things to blow to smithereens, so little time

don't want to be handicapped by the lack of ordnance

did you perhaps receive a bigger shipment earlier and you're just topping up?
