    Stace,

If you want a firm and well defined physique you need to start on a serious resistance routine. The legs are a major part of this. As one of the biggest muscle groups they can kick start your metabolism and help develop a really toned look.

Mindi smith (you tube her) hits the weights big time and heavy. She's a really normal looking attractive abs tastic woman. Why? Because she doesn't take male hormones and steroids so she wont look like Nikke fuller any time soon.

Most women are terrified of this look but to be honest you have more chance of winning the lotto than looking like this in 100 years even if you went to the gym every day (which isn'y good by the way.)

In addition your resis sessions will include abs every 3 days or so.

If you want visible abs then you need a 95% clean diet (which I would recommed to anyone) to provide the best nutrition. A six pack is made in the kitchen like it or not.

A reasonable does of cardio to help burn fat and provide a really fit and healthy heart also goes down well. So: -

    1/ Eat well
    2/ Cardio
    3/ Resistance

    easy innit!

I wouldn't waste my time or money on it, get fitted for a good pair of running shoes and away you go.

    Extra info!

    mini tramp.

    it's ok......

plus is it's allright because you do get going and any movement is good.

    But....

For some women it presents physiological difficulties. Whatever letter of the alphabet you are make sure you get the right equipment for the job.

It is hard to alter the the difficulty on a tramp.

Bikes and treadmills and rowers and elipticalsm can be adjusted to provide greater resistance so you will improve over time. They are often computer measured so you cannot cheat yourself into thinking you've done well. If you slack on a bike it will let you know.

If you want the quick easy short cut to health and a great body then head down to Tesco and buy some biscuits because it takes time and effort. Once you accept that it's a great journey ;)

I have seen videos online showing home workouts with a mini trampoline so you can work with it alright, it wouldn't be my choice though.
I am not an expert by any stretch but you can start squats, lunges, step-ups, hip raises & hamstring rolls without buying anything. Maybe buy a skipping rope, or go to a kettle bell class and learn some of the exercises for using a kettle bell at home to get your heart rate up (and for resistance exercises).
From my experience I think it is worth going to a good personal trainer even as a once off to get a program working around the equipment you decide to get, and then following up at 6-8 week intervals for a session and updated program. For me I have only really started learning about my body's response to exercise and the most effective ways to go about it under guidance, though I know many people don't need this.

I have a good bit of home gym equipment and some of the simple things I use a lot are kettlebells, rope, and resistance bands. I've added stuff as I've learnt and realised what I need and what will be of use, so from my own experience I would start with simple tried and tested stuff and add equipment as necessary as your training shows you you will use it. Eat clean most of the time too :).

Agree that trampolines can present physiological difficulties for some women. The pelvic floor after having children doth often protest at the gravitational pull.
