Frozen Lakes winter 2010/2011

Last winter there was all sorts of activities taking place on lakes across Ireland including lads cutting fishing holes etc. and 1 guy even wanted to ride a motorbike across lough Derg, last done about 50 years ago apparently. Are the lakes that way inclined yet? And I know its highly dangerous and I don't recommend these…
