vista-windows explorer has stopped working message

hey guys,have vista on acer laptop,and often it says"windows explorer has stopped working" and a diagnose/fix problem button pops up.it searches but never finds solution.you have to close explorer and start again,or chance pressing 'back' tab. any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks

Are there any messages in the Event Viewer Logs.

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System (Or Application).

Post the errors that correspond to the time explorer crashes.

Are there any times it happens most (e.g. when the icon views are thumbnails)
