Going to be in Dublin this week? We've got a great little treasure hunt for you.

Here's some blurb:

Dublin city centre has everything at Christmas, stunning festive lights, unique atmosphere and the best value and range of shopping in the country with 4,000 shops and 10 department stores and shopping centres.

Dublin City Centre has never looked better, each Christmas there is a festive atmosphere created by dressing the city’s streets and parks.

Christmas shopping is an occasion in itself; people travel to the city centre from all around the country to enjoy the unique atmosphere of carol singers, Christmas lights, Christmas jingles, Santa in the stores, catching up with old friends and just the magical experience that Christmas in Dublin City Centre offers.

And the details:

Every day we're going to name a place in Dublin City Centre. Take a photo of it, upload it to Boards.ie and you could win!

We have 8 x €150 Dublin City Gift Cards to give away as well as a grand prize of an extra €800 gift card.

Just check in here each day for the photo you should take and add it to the Thread.

Thursday 2 December:

Get a photo with the elf at the Santa Grotto.

Wednesday 1 December:

Take a photo of the DART crossing the Liffey.

Tuesday 30 November:

Take a photo of a Dublin Bus bus stop on O' Connell Street

You can find out how to add an image to boards.ie right here. Alternatively, you can "Attach" your image to your post, you can learn about that here.

We use Picasa, Pix.ie and Flickr. Please resize your images to a maximum of 1024 X 768 pixels or this thread becomes too difficult to read and will take forever to load!

You can keep up with the latest events and offers happening this Christmas in Dublin City Centre via their Facebook page or Twitter account.

T&Cs:
The Daily competition will run from 12 noon each day for 24 hours and will close on December 8, 2010

Daily winners will be chosen at random on the following day, so long as their photo is appropriate.

Inappropriate photos will be removed and the poster disqualified from entering for the remainder of the competition.

No cash alternative offered.

This competition has been paid for by the Dublin City Business Association.

Your photos may be used for promotional purposes by Dublin City Business Association - by entering them into this competition, you are granting permission for their re-use and publication.

And as the guys said before it is being run by Dublin City Business Association so it makes sense that it is pictures of Dublin, maybe another comp could be run by someone else for other places...

Why pick photos at random? Why not have an actual competition, i.e. where the photos are judged? They mightn't necessarily need to be the 'best-looking' shots - maybe the winner could be something taken from an interesting angle, or making a statement using specific placement of foreground and background, etc etc.
