The match deserves a thread of its own I think

    Huge huge match.

I dont like betting on unders but if was to, it be defiantly on this match, I think Jose will do another inter Milan on Barca but R. Madrid dont have the calibre of the defenders that inter have so its going to be tough for them

Im looking at yellow cards in this match because Madrid will try to keep Messi quiet. Im thinking of going for Marcelo to be booked and possibly Diarra if he starts (waiting on odds for them)

Ya i dont think it will be the goalfest everyone predicts, i hope im wrong though, ive not decided what to back yet, i think Barca are a bit too short at 11/10 though considering Real are unbeaten, their defence is decent too.

Barca to win 1-0 @ 9/1 is tempting though

Personaly I'l probably be including this match in one of three single draws. Can see it being a score draw though.

Im on unders at 6/5, I can see Jose trying for one of his classic Inter 1-0 performances.

Anyone remember the game where Real travelled to the Nou Camp more or less with the intention of beating them up at the very least? Well I expect more of the same here tonight coupled the loco refs, hell we could be seeing 100 points on the card index very easily :D

Was originally looking at the player booking department ONLY. But PP have themselves covered. Lass @ 13/8 is tempting me though. Asking the La Liga fans on the site I use for their opinion on this one as those odds will be slashed nearer to KO.

Almost zero chance of that happening. Mourinho has already stated in yesterday's press conference that he will start with his strongest, first-choice, team. So unless he was playing games, Lass will remain on the bench. So far this season, Mourinho has named his starting 11 before every game, and stuck to it.

    and now......
Breaking news: according to the Madrid press, Higuain is not fit and won't play...and Khedira may only be fit enough for the bench. With the former out, it's almost certainly Benzema who will come in, though there is a small possibility that Mourinho will play Ronaldo as the CF and Lass in midfield.

But if Khedira doesn't start, then Lass is a near-certainty to start.

went for first scorer (most likely from set plays) all from betfair. $2 singles

Gerard Pique (42), Carles Puyol (60) , Ricardo Carvalho (60).

    and now......

ill be all over that lass bet if he starts

it should be a dead cert to win

Luckily the snow has intervened and I have no work this evening. :)
Sometimes games can get hyped too much and I feel no matter what happens, this evening could disappoint a lot of people.

Like Headshot I will go with unders as I feel Mourinho will be happy once Real don't lose. My only fear is that I think Real may sit deep and try to catch Barca on the break which could be a successful tactic for Real considering how open Barca can be at the back and also the pace of Ronaldo, Di Maria and Ozil. It might be worth waiting to see how Real set up and then back in play.

Think I will take Ozil and Di Maria anytime @13/2 as well as a small punt on Marcelo anytime @12/1. Marcelo has gotten himself into some good scoring positions in the last few weeks.

A lot of people seem to think Mourinho can stifle this into a borefest. I disagree. Both teams defensive records lie this season. The fact is that the teams they've played simply havn't gotten at their defenses enough to show up their weaknesses. I think both attacks are likely to do some damage tonight. Higuain is rumoured to have failed a fitness test this morning but that could be just a Mourinho game. If he doesn't start, it could actually be a blessing in disguise if Benzema comes in - Top finisher. Carvalho, I'm not sure has recovered and if not, he will be a huge miss at the back. I think 1.8 on the over 2.5 is now a great value bet.

    Couple more tips

    I've gone for a 0-0 draw @ 11/1

Big drift on real on betfair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

I think this is going to be cagey too. Its such a big match that Jose will do everything he can not to lose which means defend like crazy. Went Messi 1-0 @ 25-1, no goals @ 12-1 and under 2.5 goals @ 6-5.

Whatever happens this is a match to enjoy.

Ronaldo to score a free kick @ 5/1.

    Easy money :p

    Casillas

    S. Ramos
    Pepe
    Carvalho
    Marcelo

    Alonso
    Khedira

    Di María
    Özil
    C. Ronaldo

Still waiting for Barca's starting XI.

Where you see that Ade? I'm watching Gol tv and it was just mentioned that Mou still hasn't anounced the team. They had a woman on from Real Madrid tv.

Real supporters on another forum have said he announced that as the team. They've rarely got it wrong in the past 3 years so hopefully they're spot on as per usual. We'll just have to wait and see :)

Been reading through here and they have the same team up as well.

So hoped he'd be starting. Would have lumped on him.

Now it's just unders @ 11/10 for me and Messi wincast @ 5/2. Couple of 25's on those.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,251 ✭✭✭The Walsho

Unders for me. Also a little punt on 0-0.

Less than three goals and my bet wins. Three goals or more and it'll have been an entertaining match. :)

Can see this being a tight match with Real playing defensively and maybe sneaking one the break.

    Gone for €25 unders @11/10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,643 ✭✭✭Phoenix Park

Money flooding in for Barca now, may well go off odds on. Draw drifting to a very backable 3.75.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,762 ✭✭✭jive

    ive gone for unders @ 11/10 (€10)
messi to score anytime @ evens (€12.85... to even out my account balance:P)
barcelona 1-0 @ 7/1 (€5)... done with powers, if theres >4 goals then stake will be returned

messi anytime at evens looks good to me. i think this match won't be all its cracked up to be and will be fairly tight, i hope im wrong though. messi to score and barcelona to win 1-0 would be ideal :P

Sums up how I feel about this game. Gone unders too. Also €10 on Barca to win at evens and €5 on Xavi insurebet first scorer @ 18/1.
Can see it now, ball crossed by Pedro, Carvalho clears it to the edge of the box and Xavi buries into the bottom corner :pac:.

This is great for a Monday !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭homolumo

I haven't backed it, (I went for unders, the draw, Ozil and Di Maria anytime) but Real at 11/4 is good value.
