So I've setup a minecraft server recently and most of the discussion about the server has been in Tallon's Minecraft Server thread which has got confusing so as a result I've setup this thread.
The IP address is: 188.165.205.19 You can also connect to the server by entering majorgaming.eu into the connect field. There is a whitelist in effect due to the amount of griefers we are getting so apply for access at the forum link below.
This address is public so I would advise people to hide their valuable items in chests in secret locations.
I've also setup a simple script to display when the server is online and who's playing. It's very buggy at best and I'm still working on it so don't mind if it display's something funny every now and again

As of today, the server has been updated to server client 0.2.5_02

Enjoying this server a lot, and I think I'm getting more stable ping/lag then on Tallon's considering I'm on the other side of the world.
My never ending goal of creating an interesting treehouse of some sort seems to be going reasonably well too, I'm happy with how this one is turning out (having raised my previous one to the ground after people started chopping down my precious trees!)
It's interesting haing to worry about monsters and falling death again. I find myself arranging convenient times to suicide and regain my health having stored away any valuable items. Also, nothing quite ruins your day like a pair of creepers hiding in your trees and blowing holes in your fragile floating floor, and difficult to rebuild trees. Those bastards!0 -

I set out on my travels with high hopes of discovering awesome new places for us to mine and build...
I traveled by day only, for fear of being killed from the shadows in the night. I built numerous emergency nighttime shelters, i left some supplies in each shelter the in the mornings... and went on my way...

what i didn't expect to find was a longing for home and an overwhelming feeling of loneliness while on my travels.... I decided to loop around and arrive triumphantly back at the community mine with many gifts and stories from my travels...
I saw many wonderful things on my return journey....

things started to get a bit strange while I attempted in Vain to get back to my beloved farm...
but alas, after many days and nights of desperately searching for a building or light in the distance my search came to an end... I realized that I would never find my way home and I resigned myself to my fate...
I constructed a wooden house on the highest peak I could find and left my final message within, along with all my belongings.... gifts for the next lonely wanderer.... then i opened the front door to my last refuge and walked out into the night......0 -

Apoligies to whoever was on the server at around 5:30am this morning, it crashed again for some weird reason. The logs tell me that it was overloaded but I think it's related to a memory leak.

It took about 30 minutes for it to crash fully going by the log. I may put in a command to get the server to restart every day at 4am if that would be ok with everyone??
The load on the server went up drastically during that period so I'm not entirely sure whats happening but I'm going to take a look at it. I think it may be down to the 64bit OS that the server's running and possible having a 32bit version of Java installed. I'll look into it anyway.

I have no goods, so I have nothing to loose. Am glitched, can't be seen by person or zombie, and jumping off high buildings or running through lava does nought to me.

Quick question. Is randomly exploring not a bad idea since it will always bring you back to your spawn point if you die, miles from the half built giant penis you were working on?
Yeah or you can type /home to do it without losing all your items. Items persist for ~5 minutes when left out in the open.
Quick favour to ask Cian; could you spawn me ~5 mob spawners? I have made a pig farm but no pigs. Mob spawners placed by players always spawn pigs.
